online shopping: ebay vs. amazon?

if you want buy something of especial for friends,relatives or special person and you decided to buy something online which site you will check first to shop? ebay or amazon?or may be somebody you trusted or you knew in the past?

I just became a newbie with eBay recently and bought a few things but am not totally satified due to one of the sellers sold the item mismatched the description. I like to shop with Amazon as well, but they don't deliver the items to Gibraltar where I live, so there is no business between us. LOL

I've done business with E-bay and have been extremely satisfied. Bought a couple of items for the house and they came in good condition and prompt. Have never ordered anything from Amazon. My recommendation would be E-bay.

I use ebay about 99 percent of the time I have ordered from amazon before but the items on there cost a lot more than they do on ebay.
