Our recently married daughter wants me to make a set of six to eight coasters. Below is a picture of some I've made in the past. They are my fun project of the week called Mug Rugs. They really work well and absorb all the moisture from cans or bottles. She requested burgandy with brown. Might be missing from myLot off and on in order to finish them for her. What's your opinion of the below coasters?

I would never use them. I like them to much to have bottles or cans on them and to soak up the messes. I would just put them up and display them for when people come over. I would just use the regular coasters. you did an awesome job on them and they look awesome.

Thanks for the nice compliment. This is one of my very easy projects. They are cold water washable. I soak mine in the sink with liquid detergent and let them air dry. Thanks for responding.

Do you find after washing them time and time again that the wool gets fuzzy?

Actually I don't find that but suppose there is a chance if put in the washer. I hand wash mine in a sink with cold water and shake them dry.

Oh they're lovely! I think they're really cute. Unfortunately they wouldn't be good for us as we drink a lot of tea and coffee and I wouldn't want to risk brown drips staining them! I do a lot of cross-stitch crafts myself. I recently made a coaster for some friends with a little cat on it like the one they have and some Celtic designs to border it. They're quite handy because at sewing and craft stores you can buy the plastic coasters to put your embroidery into when it's done and it has a plastic cover to protect the work. Good luck with the project!

They do actually clean up easy. They can be washed in the washer in cold water but would work out better in one of those small nylon bags so the force of the water won't remove the fringe on the sides. Thanks for responding.

They are very easy to make. I can give you the measurements if you like. I am all out of them right now otherwise I'd be more than happy to send you a sample. I am starting with zero from memory so this could be a total disaster...lol Thanks for responding.

How cute are those? Must be nice to have talent. Wish I had some. I am wondering about the burgandy with brown? Will the words mug rug show up? I am just picturing a dark brown against the burgandy. Have fun with your project.

Was going to use burgandy with light tan but now the order has been changed. You are exactly right, two dark colors wouldn't look right. Thanks for responding.
