An Expensive Purchase  

I love that bag, I think if you have only had two bags then you should buy this one, for me I have so many bags I wouldn't buy one that expensive but I think you should as you are not like me, I prefer to buy cheaper types as I like different bags for different occasions, I just love haveing lots of bags, shoes and clothes, you go for it girl I admire you for your past restraint...i think you should buy that baf ASAP.....enjoy it as it is really a nice bag...

dang $195 for a purse? im like you, i dont think ive spent over $20 for a purse in my life. i would feel like i had just wasted a bunch of money on something so silly. but that is me mind you. ive never been one to pay any attention to whats in or out of fashion.

how much of a discount would you get? a really really great discount that brings it under $100?? lol kind of doubt that but you can always wish right?

save up for it, its not like you're going out to get it on a whim with a maxed out credit card. or spending this weeks grocery money on it. save a bit at a time, then go get it!

I don't normally buy expensive things unless it's really necessary (or unless it's the latest gadget, I'm a gadget freak you see but I still rely on discounts and freebies, my family doesn't have that much cash... so no use me being a gadget freak... I can only drool and stare at the pics while cursing the darn expensive prices.haha!) and I rarely buy bags but I think what you have there my friend is an exception to the rule because you really think that you deserve one. I think that you should buy it because someone might get it before you do and regretting at the end is so not good. And anyways, this one time of splurging won't do you any harm because you don't normally do it. So go for it!!

Unfortunately I don't spend lots of money on clothes, purses and shoes. I think the max I have ever spent on a purse is the $10 are because I don't usually carry one around alot. But if it was something that I really wanted I would then save up for it. So if this is something you really want go and save up for it.

That is a magnificent bag. If you really want it start saving up for it. Try and cut corners elsewhere. If you buy your lunch and coffee every day start to brown bag it for a while and put the coffee money and lunch money away every day. You will be amazed how much you will save. Same with other items. Instead of replacing your household cleaning product such as Mr. Clean or Fantastic buy a package of baking soda and some vinegar. Baking soda is great to clean toilets and vinegar is great in water to clean windows. Don't buy pre-cooked and prepared foods. Make your own from scratch. If your company lets you put the bag on lay-away do it and pay the amount of your savings down every week. You deserve to treat yourself once in a while.
A few years ago in 2000 when I was still working I was sent over to Germany for a few months and paid very well. There I bought a designer bag for about $250. That is the most I ever spent on a hand bag. I have carried it ever since every day. In fact it is the only bag I use. I still get compliments on it even after 7 years. To me it was worth it.

If it was something I really wanted and would use for a very long time, I would put out the money for it. I don't spend a lot - if any - money on myself most of the time and I am getting to the point now where I realize that I should make the occasional splurges on myself.

But I have plenty of "spendy" things in my life. And 95% of them came from thrift stores. I think it's possible to be "cheap" and to have nice things at the same time. It's just a matter of what your personal priorities are. Not long ago, I needed a new pair of hiking boots-- and eventually got what I wanted from Goodwill-- a "lightly used" pair of $165 boots for $12. Of course, it doesn't allow me to be as particular about what I get... specific brands, colors, etc.

In your case, you're wanting something very specific. Question is... HOW important is that to you? Have you checked eBay? Maybe you can find one at a better price, there?

the most I have spent on a bag is £22.50

it's a really pretty sparkly one from Accessorise, and it was half price in the sale. it's normally £45, which I would never consider paying.

it's just ideal for a night out, as I can fit my phone, cards, some money and my lippie in it.

most bags I'll only spend up to about £20 on them.

I guess I am a cheapskate, because I would never spend more than 25$ on a purse. I have an aunt who brags about her 300$ purses and shoes. I find it irritating really. Who needs a purse that cost that much money. I'm lucky to have 300$ by the end of the month, let along cart around a bag worth more than is in my checking. It's just silly. But too, I absolutely hate shopping for clothes. I'm not big on fashion, I'm more about function. I could have a bag for every day of the week at that price, more if I checked out the thrift store.

I am a 20 dollar purse woman. At least I was until recently when I spent 45.00 for a purse. I don't even like the handle. Actually I hate the handle it is ugly. My friend as no problem spending up to 200.00 for a purse. She uses it for years so I guess the price is worth it for her. For people who change purses like there shoes or socks will I think that is way to much. I see it as wastefull. Before I bought my first 45.00 purse I was shopping and saw a purse I loved unsale for 125.00 from 250.00. I just couldn't make myself do it. Finally I needed a new purse so bad as mine was falling apart at the seems that I bought this leather (I think) 45.00 purse. I really don't like it that much but couldn't find a purse I really liked. Now I am wishing I spent the one twenty five and enjoyed my purse for years to come if nessecary.
