If You became Famous, would you change your name , or keep the one you got? |
| |
| I came up with this topic after submitting my Sylvester Stallone piece, which reminded me of the piece I did awhile ago about Bea Arthur. So, if you became famous (acting, modeling, music, etc.) would you change your name or keep the one you have? If so, what would it be and why would you change it from your birth name? Me? Trust me, I'd definitely change my name. I've never liked my name. Many people tell me it's beautiful, but sorry, Danielle just isn't cutting it for me. Of course it could have a lot to do with what my maiden name was, but we won't get into that. And just for the record...we all need to promise we wont steal anyones idea for names here. It's like naming your child or pet, nothing more aggravating than a friend stealing your name. So, if I became a famous I'd change my name to D'Nei which is the name I use when I write my poetry. It can be used by itself or I can go with Alicia D'Nei which is similar to my middle name Alicia Dante. But anyway, that's it. So, what's yours? | | | | | |

| | My stage name is just my real name but with my last name taken off, so it's just my first and middle. There's a superstition that my last name is bad luck and whenever someone uses it, they don't get a big break. Both my brother and father are musicians and every time they almost got a record deal, something bad happened and it fell through. | | | | | | |

| | Wow! That's deep. A last name with a curse sounds very mysterious and intriguing. Of what origin is your last name? | | | |

| | Yeah i think i will. My name is just one of those Arabic regular names.. i would change it to something glamorous.. any suggestions? | | | | | | |

| | I don't have any suggestions, but it's amazing how people come up with their new names. Sometimes it comes from a street or town from where they lived as a child or a favoite character in a book. You just have to use your imagination. | | | |

| | Hi dramaqn, I will not change my name after I become famous. Because why should I change the name which brought me to famous. I have seen people who change their name and try their luck to become famous. I have seen people with neumarology belief change or add some letters to get their names pronounced differently to get luck and famous. You change your name and see your luck, but once you are famous with a name, don't change it. Good Luck. | | | | | | |

| | I think I'd keep my name, but I think Me and "THE ROCK" would need to get together and talk since our names are the same. How rough would that be, both of us at the Academy awards, "And the winner is", DWAYNE JOHNSON" yaaaaaaaaaaa, AND WE BOTH STAND UP. and since he was in the WWF, Smack Down, and all that, I don't think I can take em. But if he sticks with "THE ROCK" and I stick with "BLACK CAT" our "Check's shouldn't get mixed up...lol | | | | | | |

| | Oh yeah, no wonder your name sounded familiar. Well it's funny you should bring this up, because sometimes he does use his real name when he does movies. Yep, you better get a stage name my friend. | | | |

| | I think it would depend on how I became famous as to what part of my name I would use or if I would totally change it to something else. I really have never liked my first name being Tammy, but I have used it all my life and everyone knows me by that name so it would have to depend on where I was headed in life and what I expected to receive from it in order for me to change and risk nobody realizing it was me. | | | | | | |

| | That's very good thinking. It's amazing though how many people don't like their real names. Do you know how your parents came up with naming you Tammy? | | | |

| | If I became famous I would keep the name that I have. I love my family heritage and my name reflects that heritage. I would also be afraid that those who knew me as I grew up woudln't recognize a new name! | | | | | | |

| | This is cool, however you know many people want to change their name because they dont' want every nut from their childhood all of sudden speading secrets or lies. Personally, the people I still associate with from my growing up would know, and those fake people would surely recognize it was me in a photo or on tv. | | | |

| | I would definitely keep my name, because it is who I really am, and I would not let fame get into my head.. But if it means losing my job or anything important, then I would not. =P | | | | | | |

| | Well that is certainly understandable. I'm glad so many people like and are comfortable with their name. I remember when I was in 6th grade I tried to come up with a differnt spelling for my name, that didn't go too well. | | | |
