Human society and pets 911 are distributing vouchers for low cost treatment. You can find event near you: http://www.hsus.org/pets/issues_affecting_our_pets/pet_overpopulation_and_ownership_statistics/spay_day_usa/ Would you consider low cost treatment for your pets?

Pola, I'm so glad that you brought this up. It's such a vital thing for pet owners to get their pets spayed and neutered and so many people put it off because they can't afford it. Our local Animal Protective Association does this too, as well as the Humane Society, several times a year.

I know how hard is to pay vet bills. I have 3 pets and it cost now a lot to support food and vet visits...

Just to be clear: Spay Day USA is Feb. 26, 2008. Spay Day IS in February, you just didn't give me a date. If you are asking if I would consider spaying and neutering my pets the answer to that in unequivicably yes.

I have met people who do not believe in getting their pets neutered, mostly men, and I can understand that if your up in to continuing the lines (halt extinction), and I often think of the experience and fun the animal is missing out on. I believe neutring of most of our pet animals is the most humane thing we can do for them. Thank ya Pola.

That's nice to know that the humane society there is actually doing something. In here the humane society used to even have a clinic where people could bring their pets and have them spayed or neutered for only a small fee. But even that was cut and it doesn't exist anymore. I needed to have my cat bailey neutered for so long now but couldn't even start to afford it. We weren't even able to sleep for the last month. Thankfully a friend put me in touch with a clinic that will do it for a price that I can pay, but I had been looking for ages and did start with the humane society in here - no help from there grrrrr

Yeah the full price is steep. IN this clinic I will pay only $80 but if I went to the regular vet it would come to almost $600 since bailey has to have his shoots before they even consider doing the surgery.

Yeah, we probably will do the low cost spaying if we can't afford a vet..Our puppy is only 2 months old, so we have some time..But thanks for bringing this to my attention, because we do need to do something soon..:)

keep your eye open. I think that you can take a voucher now for later use....you can call and ask for how long voucher is good to use...

Just filled out a form for them to contact me with a low-cost neuter clinic near me to help get my male kitten neutered. I use low-ocst services for all my animals' shots.

While my two kitties are already altered, it's great that HSUS is having vouchers one can get for lower cost spay/neuter ...too bad they don't offer this all the time though and not just once in awhile as it could put a hold on more unwanted animals being born then ultimately end up in shelters. Friends of Animals also offers certificates all year round for lower cost spay/neuter
