I usually don't miss the Westminster Kennel Club dog show because to me it's always so interesting to see so many different breeds. This year was the first time in the history of the Westminster Dog Show a Beagle won Best in Show...his name is Uno...cute name I think. He's on Martha right now and so adorable. You can see why he won because he does look like a perfect dog!Are you a fan of dog shows? Do you 'root' for a particular dog when you're watching?

I used to watch a show like the one you're talking about but I don't think it's still on tv around here any more.

I really do enjoy watching dog shows, on television or in person. Especially the small dogs, they are truly my favorite.

I like to watch dog shows and see the good looking and well trained dogs. I especially like to see my favorite breeds being shown. However I don't choose to trim my poodles in fancy way. They look like ordinary dogs. If I watch a dog show on TV my dogs do bark if they notice dogs on the screen.

I like the poodles that aren't cut all fancy too. Personally I think the things they do to them look stupid!

I used to really enjoy watching that kind of show, ctry, but rarely get the chance anymore. I have, however, hears quite a bit about Uno, and I agree that he is an adorable little Beagle. To me, dog shows have always been on a par with human beauty contests, lol. They are fun to watch!

I never got into those beauty contests....maybe because it's so easy to make someone look "beautiful". The dog shows are different in that they have to be trained and groomed to look the best they can.

Yes, I was just meaning that not all "top dogs" are as cute as Uno, some to me are down right ugly.
I am aware of all the dogs, owners and handlers go through and what they look for, each breed has certain things the judges look for. I used to have a show dog, a whippet.

It's not so much that they are cute but they have to have things like their tails and ears have to be just right and they have to act a certain way while the trainers are walking with them.

The only dog show I see every year is the one at the Adelaide Royal Show. It runs over five days & they are different breeds every day.
I love watching it & seeing all the beautiful dogs. Some of them have such great characters.

I absolutely LOVE the Westminster dog show and the Eukeneuba dog show as well! Of course this could be because I dearly love dogs! (and cats) I can't help but root for the type of dog that I have, which is a wire-fox terrier. I also tend to root for varieties that I have owned in the past ....such as a toy poodle and a golden retriever!

I dont really watch dog shows. I have once. And that was cuz ive always wanted a dog and their are so many breeds i want. If I could have them all i would. So I was watching it to see if I could just pick one or two breeds I would want and I couldnt. They were all so cute.

I saw my first dog show on t.v. with my mom a few years back. I love them. The ironic thing is I don't like dogs in person but I do like the dog show.I thought Uno would win. He seemed to have the best gait.He walked like he was so proud of himself.I was so happy he won.

I absolutely do root for the Dogs....they're awesome.
I was so happy , when I saw that the loyal little
Beagle Won yesterday!!!
My Son's Beagle Likes to Kiss my One Cow ( Brutus ) On his nose. Brutus is in the Middle of an Identity crisis , he thinks he's a guard Cow. Him and Roo spent a lot of time in the Barn together And I think he's under the Impretion that Him and Roo are Best friends. ( Unbeknownst to Brutus ) Roodo is just Sampling the Beef to see if it's ready to go to Market yet.
That's O.K. though....Brutus is Gentle with Roo....so it all works out.
I love the little Beagles Best of all. They're so Animated !

I have mixed feelings on dog shows. Like for one its too many demands on the dog itself. But when it comes down to it I really enjoy watching it. I love getting to see all the different breeds. And With westminster they give the history of the dogs origin i think that is really interesting. I always cheer for the chinese shar pei to win but it never does. It's my favorite breed and the only type of dog I would ever own. That beagle uno does look perfect though. And it's the first time a beagle has ever won that it was pretty kool.

I can't say I do watch very many dog shows. Probably the only time I have ever watched one is at work when I was working for a vet. I own a dog but I can't say I am interested in watching the dog shows on TV. It is a good thing though, that there are people like you that love to watch them, or they may not be televised.

Yes I do enjoy watching it. I must say that I thought Uno seemed to act as if he knew he won and was so happy. I have never seen so many people genuinely happy that this little guy won. I usually pay special attention to the Doberman Pinschers and the Chihuahuas as I have owned and loved these two breeds just a tad more than all the other types I have had..mutts, Irish setter, Maltese, Dachshund, Yorkie. I would rather watch dogs shows than any beauty shows. LOL

I'm jealous...If I had cable television, I would watch all the animal shows in the universe (and never accomplish a thing)..I only get to watch the snippets on the news. Oh well, I choose this life! But (like you) I don't have to give up "my country music" cuz my radio works just fine. On the few TV channels I get, sometimes will get Show jumping, or the Kentucky Derby or Queens Plate. Wasn't "Uno" just the greatest little person.
