Is there an anime or any tv show that made you want to try a sports? |
ever since i started watching Prince of Tennis (Tennis no Oujisama), i was drawn into tennis and i started to love it. i was never a fan of tennis before and i've always thought it would be boring to watch it. but with Prince of Tennis, i learned that tennis is a fun sports, challenging and interesting. i became a fan of tennis and while i was watching this anime, it makes me wanna try tennis more and more. but i have already finished watching the series and yet, i haven't tried the sports.^.^;; i still want to try it though. i just need a chance and an opportunity. the series also made me interested in the real tennis. wimbledon, french open and all. and i have my own favorite tennis player now, rafael nadal.^__^ so guys, what about you, is there an anime show or any tv show that made you want to try a certain sports?

2. kun2349 (2255) | 6 months ago | I will wanna try all kinda sports but it's not because of anime.. hehe.. It's just like i wanna experience the feeling and passion for each kind of sports as well as the lessons i'm being taught while engaging in those games^_^ hehe.. Rafael nadal is good, and he's cheeky with his tennis skills too.. He brings life and joy to the game and that's y i know about him.. hehe

secretbear (4178) | 6 months ago | maybe i just love anime so much that it has that great effect to me.^__^;; oh so you know Nadal too? glad to hear it.^__^
| |
kun2349 (2255) | 6 months ago | haha.. Other than mario sharapova, i do know nadal, andy roddick and both the williams sisters too^_^ LOL
| |
secretbear (4178) | 6 months ago | how about djokovic? the one who likes to imitate sharapova, federer and nadal?
| |
kun2349 (2255) | 6 months ago | oh ya.. that's his name.. i know someone who likes to imitate the other players but dunno his name.. hehe^_^ SO he's the one.. LOL
| |
secretbear (4178) | 6 months ago | yup. its novak djokovic.^__^ he won the australian open recently and defeated Federer!
| |
kun2349 (2255) | 6 months ago | So he's the one who beat nadal in the finals izit?? because i only know that both nadal and federer progress till last 4 of the australian open.. hehe
| |
secretbear (4178) | 6 months ago | no no no. rafael nadal was beaten by another player. his name was Tonga, whatever. Nadal was defeated in the semifinals and so as Federer by Djokovic. and then Djokovic defeated Tonga in the finals.^__^

kun2349 (2255) | 6 months ago | oh.. Looks like u are serious about tennis now, secret^_^ If u were in singapore last december, u might be able to catch a glimpse of maria sharapova.. hehe.. She was in singapore with her fellow country mate, world number 6 player (but i dunno her name.. haha), for 2 days b4 they head for the australian open^_^ hehe
| |
secretbear (4178) | 6 months ago | eh? i don't like maria sharapova. at all.^__^;; come to think of it, i don't like anyone in particular in Women's tennis.^__^ Henin and Hingis are fine though.
| |
kun2349 (2255) | 6 months ago | sharapova is known for her looks rather than her skills.. hehe.. then how about the william sisters??^_^ They are quite good and they are very strong, but too bad they dun really have the skills..
| |
secretbear (4178) | 6 months ago | right! sharapova is famous because she's got good looks and she likes to "dress" during her matches. the williams sisters are just so unfortunate. i believe they have the skills but they don't have the luck.^__^;;
| |
kun2349 (2255) | 6 months ago | yeah, sharapova is dressing to kill, not play to kill.. LOL^_^ But as far as i can see, the william sisters is powerful with their strength only^_^
| |
secretbear (4178) | 6 months ago | LOL yeah, dressing to kill. LOL you're right. with those big muscles of the williams sisters, no doubt they have the strength.^__^;;
| |
kun2349 (2255) | 5 months ago | yeah.. thatS y sharapova also go train up herself to have a bit of muscles.. But luckily for her, luck is on her side and she won.. hehe

| 4. mindlessmind (13) | 6 months ago | I also watched Prince of Tennis and yes it also made me consider playing the sport. The other sport anime I can think of is Slam Dunk and basketball.
| |
| |
secretbear (4178) | 6 months ago | yay! another PoT and SD fan! i also watched Slamdunk but it never crossed my mind to try the sports. i mean, i have probably tried playing the sports even before i have watched the anime. but i never liked it so Hanamichi's passion and the rest of the team's passion for basketball never made me want to play the sports again.^__^;;

| 5. alteisenindo (78) | 6 months ago | Not really an anime, it's a manga instead. I think it's called Breakshot or something. It's about a highschool student (duh) that pursues his dream to be national 9-ball champion. Of course it's full of impossible shots, but it's good enough to get me hooked to the game. Ever since that I followed the developments of 9-ball world, my favourite player is 2005 World 9-ball champion Wu Chia Ching from Taiwan. He took the crown when he was only 16 years old. I guess highschool students CAN make their dreams come true.

secretbear (4178) | 6 months ago | i can understand how you felt. its probably the same with the way i felt when i watched PoT.^__^ we didn't only want to try the sports but we followed the sports in the real world and had an idol.^__^

| |
| |
secretbear (4178) | 6 months ago | yeah. SD was really a great sports anime. i loved Hanamichi and Sendoh there. i like the fact that Hanamichi started from the basics and become one of the great players in Shohoku.^__^

7. shinjiao (1262) | 6 months ago | Hi bear.Before I saw Slun Dunk,I was not a fan of basketball and even knew nothing about basketball.But Slum Dunk changed me.Obviously,Slum Dunk is a successful anime in Asia and it was extremely pop among teenagers.In middle school,my classmates and I were interested in playing basketball.We held games after classes and even in weekends,we went out together just for playing basketball.I began to know NBA and Jordan is my favourite player at that time.If I'm asked to find some words to describe my middleschool period,basketball is one of the key words.

9. raijin (6735) | 6 months ago | I'm already a sporty-type of guy, even right before Slam Dunk was introduced here. I remember that the first local tv station that aired it was, Channel 5. I'm also inclined on other sports already, like ping pong and darts. I wish I could play tennis and golf, but these types of sports are not that easy to spend time and money to play at.. But I think it was the anime Knock Out which really made me want to learn more about boxing, since an Elorde Gym is being built here near in my place. If ever, I'm gonna give it a try. Since this is also one of the popular sports here in our country, that even local celebrities and common people are slowly trying to jump within the hype.

secretbear (4178) | 6 months ago | yeah, i've watched slamdunk too at abc5 then.^__^ ooh. you're gonna try boxing?? good luck!^__^ i've watched Hajime no Ippo too and its the only boxing show that i was interested to watch. but i stumbled upon this jdorama which the character is a boxer and i'm kinda enjoying boxing with it too. the only boxing i don't enjoy is the real boxing.^__^;;

10. RowenaTheWitch (559) | 6 months ago | I've seen Attacker Yu (or whatever the name is) a lot of times when I was a child. It's about volley ball, so I played a lot volleyball in school pretending me & my friends were like in the cartoon:D. When I played water polo in a real squad, even if it's a different sport everyone remembered attacker yu and we were saying to ourselves "we can do it, we have to train, we will be in the national squad" like in the cartoon. LOL
