When it comes to languages, how many do you actually know? Would you like to know more, discuss your thoughts on this, and where you learned the ones you know already! =D And! where you might want to learn the other ones you don't know quite yet. :P

When it comes to language, it is easy for me know and learn if it is written. I found it difficult to understand if speak.
Aside from Tagalog and our own dialect, i can't speak other language, but i can write it and understand. English for example that is use here mainly, i learned this at home when i was a child and in school,of course English is considered as 2nd language of Filipinos.
Other language that i understand when written are German, Spanish and Purtuguese, with little on French and Japanese. I understand German when written because i love this language and i spend my time searching for this online. Spanish, Japanese, and Purtuguese, by searching dictionaries.

I speak Cantonese, English, Mandarin, Thai and French. There is still some more I wish to learn but I wouldn't want to really master them, maybe on a conversational level. I would like to learn Spanish and Japanese *smiles*. Very aggressive!

I only know English at the moment. I tried to learn a little bit of Spanish in school but didn't get very far with it. I really don't want to learn another language right now, but I wish I knew some of it so I could communicate with some other people better. I was taught English by my parents and in school.

I know about 8 languages. I consider myself fluent in 3 languages Cebuano, Tagalog & English. I understand and speak a little Ilonggo, Waray Waray. I also studied writing and reading Japanese for about a year but never got around to using it practically. I also understand and speaks a little spanish too.

Except for my native language (Romanian), I do fairly well in English (as I hope you can notice) and a bit less in French. I learned French in school and English from TV and than in school.
I also manage to communicate in Italian and Spanish, but I speak those languages only if I hear people speaking them around me for a day or two, and I don't have many grammar knowledge. These languages are close to my native language and I learned what I know from TV only.
I manage reading Russian (or other Slavic languages: Bulgarian, Ukrainian, etc...), but I don't understand much... I learned Russian in school, but I only studied Russian for 3 years.
I know a few words in other languages, such as German, Portuguese or Japanese too, from TV.
I gathered some material to study Japanese on my own, but I never found the time... Anime series are good if you want to learn Japanese.

i can speak 2, english and tagalog..
i can understand mandarin a bit and i could speak japanese just a bit too... i want to learn lots of languages though (spanish, german, italian, french, lol, i don't think i can do it all)... but i'm not sure if i'll be able to do it.. i mean it's really hard to learn a language if you don't have a native speaker or at least a person who knows the language for you to practice with...

I know 2. One is my natural-born language, English, and the other is Japanese - which I've been learning in school for the past five years. I'm proficient in it, according to the American Language Proficiency test I took in the spring. I still feel like there's a lot of room for improvement, though. I'm also trying to learn Swedish, though.

I know how to speak Korean, English, and some Spanish.. I hope to learn Chinese in the next 4 years, because English, Spanish, and Chinese are the main languages.
