Are you a people watcher? Do you stare at folks?

I love to people watch. When I lived in Florida a friend of mine and I would go to the airport and people watch. We would make up stories on picking up and dropping off, where they were going and why. We could make the most boring person seem intresting with the stories we would make up. I love to go to Starbucks by myself and people watch. I sit down with a good book or a magizne and look up to see new people walking in. My favorite was when I worked in the K-mart cafe as a teenager. There was an OLD couple that would come in every day and share a bowl of soup. They were so cute when they would walk in hand and hand. They sat there and talked and laughed and just seemed to have fun. I don't have any idea what they could still be talking about after 54 years old marriage (I asked) but whatever it was it was good. They said the secret to a great marriage is communication and compermise. I am taking that advice in my marriage as they had to be doing some thing right.

I never thought of an airport - what a neat place that would have been to go before all this security stuff had to be put in place. What a nice story about the older couple - imagine still yakking away after all that time - I seriously CANNOT imagine...whit

Oh my goodness yes, I love to people watch! Especially at the mall.
I can remember as a young girl, my friends and I would sit at the mall and watch the people walk by. We'd make up stories about the people depending on what they looked like or what they wore. Or, we'd try to figure out what type of job they had. We had a lot of fun! We always made sure that they did not know we were talking about them because we didn't want to hurt their feelings.
I was just at Disney last week and did a LOT of people watching! It was a blast!

I'm a watcher and an observer, I love to learn from people by simply looking at them and the way they behave. Normally, a person can easily be judged by the way they move or act and looks. But I don't want to judge someone just because of that so if ever I'm interested in a person, it's either I make observations and conclusions or if possible interact with them..

I love to people watch and sometimes that's my favorite pass time, and it's free :) I don't think I've ever been 'rude' about it but make a game of watching people without letting them know I'm watching :)

There's just so much you can learn by people watching, human nature, habits, little things that you never think about until you see someone else doing them.

LoL!! As I've said before, I'm REALLY guilty of doing this. Right now the only ones I get to watch (besides my family) are my neighbors. And it's so awesome to watch them carry on like there is nothing or no one else that matters in this world but them. Just by watching them, they have taught me a lot.
Growing up, and even now still to a point, I used to watch people all the time, especially at work. That was the only way I would really get to know them before I got to talk to them. And also it helped me figure out a way to talk to them because I already knew a little about them and their personality. But my favorite spot was on the city bus. Man, the people that would ride that would be so weird and very interesting to watch...especially when they would talk to themselves. LMAO!
Am I ashamed of it or feel that I was intruding? No, how else are you to REALLY get to know someone unless you sit in the background and just watch them. I've gotten to know a lot of people that way and knew who to stay away from before they had a chance to talk to me. By the time that happened it was made official.

I like to people watch as well. I just think that the life of each person is fascinating; from old to young. My favorite place to watch people is in the back seat of our car when CJ and his dad are in store. I watch as people go in and out of store; how they dress and move. I usually get tips on what I'd like to wear. The other day I watched an elderly couple go into and come out of a store and I felt so badly for them. They both had hip disorders and could barely walk but they kept "keeping on". It was heart-warming at the same time.

My flat over looks the main street of the town I live in and my computer is right by the window in the bedroom so when I'm on here I can see everyone who walks by. It is very interesting sometimes to watch people and how they behave walking around, the street is on a hill so people are normally quite tired looking. And like in all town centers there are often children screaming trying to get their mothers to give them their own way and the mothers trying to ignore them and make them behave.
At night you get all the drunks shouting and fighting and laughing loudly and generally acting like idiots. I wish these people could see themselves sometimes as they look so stupid they'd surely be embarrassed.

I don't watch people too much, because I'm usually in my own little world of thought. But there are times that I find myself observing people. It don't have to be anywhere in particular. Just when the mood strikes!

I sure am a people watcher. I like to go to the malls to watch people and to the lounge for a drink, and people watch. I love to go with one of my sisters because she does the same thing and we chat and try to guess what people are saying to each other, and what there lives are about. We come up with some pretty good stories sometimes, very inventive stories and we have a good laugh at each other. We also like to watch people dance at the bars. Sometime we will, between each other only, make fun of the way some people dance, but only in fun.

i love people watching...we went out to dinner the other night just to watch people, lol. It is always interesting to see what other people are doing, you kind of envision some sort of story in your head for that person, but of course we don't know. I often wonder what people think if they ever watch me, lol. would they recognize I'm a people watcher too?

Yes! I watch people a LOT.
I was was a Psychology major (the truth is out there, and 'in here'), I read Sherlock Holmes, and I was a member of the Paranormal Society in my previous university. That should explain why I love doing that ;')
Plus, I'm a human rights advocate. Aaand a sucker for biological evolution =')

Yes, I love to people watch. One of the best places I've found is the airport. People are in a hurry to get to connecting flights or simply lost in our airport since it's so big. Most big public places are the best. I have been known to sit on a bench at a mall and people watch when I was tired of walking.

i also enjoy watching people, I do it in innocence. However, you know, some people dont like being looked at never mind stared at. What i think works best is a clandestine observation

Good morning, yes I am most definitely a people watcher, it is one of my favorite things to do, usually I do this on the bus, and am continually amazed at how weird people can be, there are a bout four people that I watch that are more fun than pay TV one is a lady in her early fifty's, she gets on the bus and walks up and down the isle and says good morning to every one, then she will get a seat as close to the driver and start telling the driver the story of her life, she is a frequent rider so the drivers are a bit tired of her constant chatter but it is an earful, the second fellow is I believe a bit handicapped mentally he gets on the bus and asks the most personal questions I have ever heard, and he is speaking to any one that walks on the bus. He talked to me one day and I told him what he was asking was none of this business, he was very offended, and said he was only trying to be friendly.
The third is a little lady in her late 70's and she just loves to get out and talk to people, she is so cute as she is very intelligent. And the fourth is a mentally handicapped young man who loves hockey and knows everything there is to know about hockey I personally know nothing, but he is a real sweetie. So yes I love to watch people.

Oh you have a handful of characters! People are so diverse and interesting. I don't ride the bus here and haven't for years. I remember the subway rides in DC though. What a bunch of non-communicative stone faces. At least the parks and sidewalk restaurants were friendly. whit

Definitely. Always have been.
I can tell so much from just looking at a person because I've been 'studying' them for so long. It is kind of rude, but harmless. The other dayt here were two old men having a conversation on my footpath right outside my house and they were talking really loudly so I just listened in to their conversation. It was interesting. i learned so much about them like where they've lived in their life, I learned all about their kids and grandkids, it was really interesting. Everyone has an interesting story to tell.
