We Call our Lion "Tiger"

We Call our Lion "Tiger" - Tiger doesn't roar, but her brother Lion does. Lion doesn't have a Lithium Ion battery, lol, though. That would be funnier.

Do you like unusual bags? Tiger, pictured below, is a handbag. She is a backpack with a loop for hanging on the wall when not in use. We use Tiger as luggage when traveling as she is just the right size for carrying camera gear and other things we want handy as opposed to being stuffed away in a suitcase. She has a nice zipper to keep the items from falling out. Her brother, a tiger (whom we naturally named "Lion") has a growler, so when you hug his neck, he roars. These toys do not have a lot of capacity, but they serve more than one function--stashing a few gadgets while at the same time providing entertainment and a nice atmosphere wherever they hang out with us. Tiger is a little flamboyant, but she sure isn't going to get lost in the shuffle, so she is a great place to put small items we don't want to lose. The down side is carrying her makes one a bit conspicuous, so we had better not be on our way to rob a bank when we sling her over a shoulder. No matter, we aren't in that line of work. Would you carry a conspicuous bag, even one that roared? Or, when you see something like this do you regard it as tawdry, gaudy, outlandish, or garish? Do you have any unusual luggage or handbags? Hubby loves Betty Boop items and has a wonderful red Betty Boop tote bag. If enough myLot friends and neighbors upload pictures of their bags here, I will go take a photo of the Betty Boop bag and add it here. :-)

That is just so cute, drannhh.. I don't carry these types of bags ever, but when I was young, my sister loved to carry these types of bags to school. Not like your Tiger though, but a smaller version.. you know like a bag with a lion head that kind of bag. Very functional, that bag was and it was so funny on an excursion bus for a school field trip and sleeping with it. It can also be considered a sleeping companion or a support pillow at that. LOL..

I don't very often actually carry it, but I like having it as an ornament over the door and once in a while in passing, I do give it a squeeze. I love utilitarian stuffed things that made cute noises. Some of them make nice pillows, but if one rolls over onto it, it is awakening ;-)

What a cute bag... i remember when we were in highschool... one of my sister's many suitors gave her a garfield bag... just a small one... it was so cute... but there is not much we can put inside... she gave it to me since she doesn't really like the guy... so i get to use the garfield bag in school... is was more of a shoulder decoration than an actual bag... Well, it was very cute and all my classmates liked it... and i got a lot of attention from just using the bag... then after a while... i got tire of all that and hanged garfield on the door of my room... it certainly served it's purpose well...

Amazing what connotations things develop. I have "remodeled" a few such bags to make them roomier. We have something like that hanging over just about every door. It is great that they are washable, otherwise they would be awful dust catchers.

Thank you, I bought it at a salvage store called BigLots where they buy overstock from the department stores and then sell at half price or less. But since then I have seen them online. Here is the lion (the one we call Tiger, lol): http://www.krittersinthemailbox.com/animals/lions/backpack.htm They have other cute animals too.

My "Tiger" - We also call this adorable feline "Tiger" although she is female.
When I first saw the topic, I thought you had a pet lion and was going to introduce it to us. Your title caught my eye, because I too have a pet cat (albeit a stray one) which we named "Tiger" because of the colors of her fur. I've posted a picture of Tiger here. She is an adorable feline who has grown so attached to us. Turned out your little Tiger is a backpack...LOL. I see many young children carry backpacks nowadays in all shapes, colors and sizes just like the one in your picture. It looks rather cute and soft to the touch, and I can imagine when you wear that on your back, it will make you look and feel years younger! You're never too old to wear a backpack. Well, I am a guy and I don't happen to carry a backpack, so the only "Tiger" that I can share here is my adorable feline.

Your Tiger is truly adorable, with quite distinctive markings. How kind of you to upload that beautiful photo. A living loving kitty is worth much more than two in a bag, lol. Hubby carries a backpack, but his are big guy-type ones.

Yes, and Tiger's very human too. She's always on the lookout for me on my walks, sits on my lap sometimes, likes to sit with me on the park bench and be stroked, and gets jealous whenever I pat or feed another cat. Have you ever experienced a stray cat like that?

so this was the conspicious bag you mentioned in that "are you so-and-so from mylot post! this must have been one of those lost discussions, lol - the first i've seen it! at any rate i think it's cute...we have a polar bear bag...it sadly does not roar...currently though I have no bag - in the winter i carry everything in my coat pockets - i travel light, just my keys wallet & phone...i keep a boring bag in the car with those things like wipes and lotion and whatnot... i'll have to keep my eyes open for someone carrying your bag around, lol :)

I think Tiger is cute, and Lion sounds cute too! There's nothing wrong with a bit of whimsy thrown into something functional. Sounds like they serve their purpose well for you, so why not? I don't have anything like that, but it wouldn't bother me to carry something like that at all.

Thank you for giving this discussion it's first response. If you see Tiger adorning somebody, it could be me. Be sure to say "Hello!" Probably not too many adults carry this kind of bag.

I have a fish shaped bag I sometimes carry lunch in. I am not sure where it is to take a picture right now. Maybe I will later. I carry flamboyant things. I have been known to clown around. I would say that a conspicuous bag makes one less likely to become a victim of theft.

Your fish shaped bag sounds very kewl and I would love to see what it looks like. When we had expensive equipment to carry into our classroom I always replaced the easy to grab and easy to lose black cases with brightly colored ones that had very distinctive decorations. In one case I did put something valuable down on a desk top and walk away from it, but as it was so visible one of the students brought it to me quickly. Our students were very honest but there was always a concern about people from the outside walking in and grabbing something, as we were in a public area.

OH we have one of those. Only ours is a bear:) It was my son's but I end up using it more than he did LOL Of course I would carry a bad like that. Not everyday, but I do. I also use my tweety backpack a lot. It's more discreet, since it's a black one with tweety engraved. I like that one a lot because it's the right size for my small stuff :) If I remember I will post a picture, I really like that one:)

I've seen the yellow Tweety bags but not the black, do post a photo if it is convenient! Our bear bag is black, but she has a cloisonne heart that reads "I Love Art!"

What a cool bag! I love it. I want one too. I could use it as a diaper bag when I get the babies. I need to go looking for one just like it. Too bad my computer got fried during the storm last night! I have a picture of my betty boop purse on that computer and I could upload it to this discussion. :-( Now I can't get to any of my stuff on my computer until hubby gets a new power supply for it. Until then, I'm stuck using my son's computer.

His Betty Boop Bag - I like it, too, but he is the kind of guy who isn't embarrassed to stand out in a crowd.
Too cool that you have a Betty Boop bag, too, but I so sorry to hear the storm fried your computer. After the first time one of mine got fried in a storm, I unplugged them in bad storms thereafter. Surge protectors work for little surges, but we have a Monsoon Season here. Here is hubby's racy bag:
