do you still like amusement park rides?  

No.

In fact, I never really love it.

I have been to Disneyland and all but the rides just don't excite me - even when I was young.

The most I enjoyed was those water rides. Gentle ups and downs with some water splashing.

I am deathly afraid of heights, for example, if I'm on a balcony, I have a very hard time even attempting to lean over the edge to look over! However, I love roller coasters! When I was younger though, I think they were a lot scarier than I find them to be now. I still like them, but now it is more for the thrill of the ride vs. the scare of the ride. I live a couple of hours from Cedar Point so we typically take a trip there once a year to ride the coasters.

I'm glad that you are ok after your experience and no serious injury occurred. I'm sure if I experienced something like that along the way, I'd never want to ride thrill rides again either.

I still like some amusement park rides. I think my body has changed since having kids though. I never used to get sick on rides, but sometimes on certain rides I kind of get motion sickness. I'm not a big fan of roller coasters though. Boy, your experiance sounds pretty scary. We have this big slide at our ski resort that I won't ride for that very reason. I've heard people talk about the turns and if you don't slow yourself down you could go right up over the edge. I'll pass. lol.

Personally, I think these rides are very dangerous and accidents can happen in a heartbeat..we do see them on the news often.
I have had a bad experience in a ride that is similar to a cage type enclosure that spins around in a wheel fashion(vertically).
Myself and my son, barely 5 at the time, were on the ride and I don't know if the guy running it was high or what, but the ride went at tremendous force and I had my camera in my hand which flew out of my hand and hit my son on his head..I was screaming for the guy to stop, but to no avail.
We spun around being tossed around like rag dolls for which seemed an endless amount of time.
Finally it stopped and I was too dizzy and my son was crying so I just did the best I could to regain myself and never went on any rides again..sad..I may go on the horses one day..you know the merrygoround..other than that, I think I will pass xo (((winter))) dear friend

I was never much of a scare junkie..

I did love to ride the wildest horses.

This had more to do with wanting to hone my horsemanship skill.

I did go on them at the county fair but never really liked them.

I used to love going to Six Flags when I was a kid and going on the roller coasters over and over. But now there's no way I'll go on them. They hurt my neck and back a lot of the time and the other reason I don't go on them is because I'm scared now. It seems the older I get the more fearful of things I become which is kind of sad to me because I used to love doing fun things like that. I'll have to try to conquer a few of those fears so I can have more fun with my daughter at things like that.~D

I used to love the rides. As I have gotten older the rides hold less appeal to me. I like the tamer rides, Merry Go Rounds, hehe. I don't like what the rides do to my stomach. Some of the newer rides are just too scary for me to get on them. too big, too fast, too scary. Some of the rides beat you up too, I like the gentle rides.

With so many accidents that have happened, I think I will just find other ways to have fun like watching a movie, going to the beach, or going to Las Vegas. No point in risking your life for a few minutes of thrill.

Like a rollercoaster being stuck for 4 hours upside down at the top of a loop, man it must be hell going through something like that!

heyyy that carpet ride thingy happens to me too, I ended up scrapping my arms, and it takes ages to heal, but that doesnt prevent me from going back again :P I learn that I need to relax and lean back a bit for the carpet to go safely :) but nowadays when im on the carpet, I wear long sleeve jackets to cover my arms :)
I still do love amusement parks, love the rides, the thrill and the fun :) Though I gotta admit the older I became, the more I got scared easily... but I still do love go on the rides :)

I like rides, but not any of the wicked ones. I do like amusement parks, but that's primarily for the food if I have to be honest. :-) Well, that and the whole ambiance of the place with its sights, sounds, and smells.

When it comes to rides, I refuse to ride anything remotely like a roller coaster... no way! When we went to Disney World, we road trains, boats, and a paddle boat. Well okay, they *did* talk me into going in the haunted mansion, but at least the ride was gentle!
