Do you dream of one day owning your own home?

I do. I want to have a fountain in my back yard next to the back deck. A shade structure to keep the sun off in the heat of the day. A garden. And a great many other things like a large pantry and large bathtub. A utility room and a garage. For now it is just a dream, but when you realize that you have paid your landlord over $40,000 in just over 5 years it is depressing!

Yes, I dream of owning our own home someday. I'd like a quiet place, where all I would care about is my own family. We currently reside in a unit of a building owned by my mom, so we don't pay rent. Some of my siblings live close by and the others still live with my mom at her home right next to this building. We are a big family and more often than not, some brothers and sisters like to meddle with our family affairs. When incidents like these happen, I try to remember that hey, we're not paying rent here, and that's a big load off our back. But dealing with siblings who make our lives miserable definitely makes me wish we were stable enough to have our own quiet, comfortable home real soon!

There is absolutely no reason why you cannot have a home of your own whenever you are finally ready to loosen the apron strings and venture out into the world on your own. You will discover just how affordable buying a home is. It is such a huge improvement over rentals properties or apartments. Most homes tend to appreciate in value, allowing home owners to cash out their years worth of payments that they have made on their home, plus interest, and a bonus it seems. When you move from an apartment or rental home you get nothing back. This is something to be considered when looking at the purchase of a home versus continuing to rent and/or live in apartments. The fact that most of your relatives are also your neighbors just makes the growing pains more noticable.

Yes, I would like to have my own home someday but not right now because I am still helping my parents financially for my sisters and brother. I stay in my parents house though so I don't really pay my rent. Also, I don't have a lot of savings right now so I think I will buy a house once I save enough money. :)

Hang in there and don't give up on your dream! I do own my own home and it's much better then renting and being told what you can and cannot do...but I am sure you already know that. Like I said hang in there and believe it yourself and it will happen!

I definitely want to own my own home. It does get so frustrating sometimes renting. I mean the upside is that if anything happens than the landlord has to fix it, like when winter started our heating unit was broken and they had to put a brand new outside unit and heating core inside as well and it cost them close to $3000 so we were fortunate to be renting this place. But I can't wait until I have something that I can call my own. With a two car garage and a basement area to make into a hang out spot with a pool table :) But right now my fiancee are at this place and we pay out a little over $5000 a year so it does get depressing knowing how much money we are spending on something that isn't ours. But maybe I'll luck up soon now that I have a better paying job.
