An Empty Nest (in your near future)

Mine are 11 and 6, so I still have a ways to go. As they get older I am seeing how they don't need you as much and I am slowly getting some free time back. When they were little I couldn't imagine having the free time again, it is a nice feeling BUT I do miss SOMETIMES the dependency. LOL

It is a hard call Modestah, because no matter what, you surely will always be thinking of your children. For me it is this way, although my son is grown, because of certain factors, I still worry. I do miss him terribly and would like to be closer to him, I do not like the distance in case of emergency.
My life was as such I did not choose all of this, however I am working on a good plan.
There is nothing more important to me than my son and although I realise he is grown now..I do not intend to be far away forever. It is too much for me Modestah..too much the worry.

My daughter will be 14 in July. I honestly don't know what I will do when she leaves our home. I will be so heart broken and lonely! My husband is still a soldier and probably will be for the next 15 years. So, when she leaves, he will still be active duty. I can't imagine her being an adult and on her own!

I can remember when my parents were FINALLY going to have a life to themselves after rearing 4 children... now they are out of the nest, they are always asking when we will be coming to see them... sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for!

don't worry......God gets you all ready for them to leave....and when you think they are gone...they come back at least one more time! And for the first time in my life I am doing exactly what I want to do....yet I still fit them into my life with first priority! But it's actually fun to find your freedom again.

you have to let them go but not to far where you can't see them anymore or where they can't reach you. Everything will be alright, all they need are just guidance rom your experience as an adult, you do not need to spoon feed them anymore. they will know what to do just like you now.

I personally feel that at least one child should remain with the parents even when he is grown up. This was the way in olden days when elders were respected and children used to take care of their aged parents. Today we find the family unit in shambles and parents have a lot to blame because they turn a blind eye to the activities of their children like entering into relationships before marriage etc. Freedom in immature hands can be very dangerous and hence what we should teach children is good values that they will treasure throughout their lives. www.worldslastchance.com is a site which could be of help to you.
