Sleeping in a haunted house... |
|
Suppose you visited friend and he/she asked you to sleep over since it's already late. Considering the distance you have to travel back home, you decided to spend the night in your friend's house. What if you realized that the house is haunted? Say, you experience some paranormal activities while in the room that you are suppose to sleep in... Will you still spend the night in that place? Or will you wake your friend up and tell him/her that you will just have to go home?

5. queenofarms (1326) | 5 months ago | No I would not spend the night if I experienced this before bedtime. I don't like the feeling of being scared. But if it happened after bedtime, then I'd book it and call the friend later. No time to stop and tell them. I'm a chicken when it comes to ghosts.

6. cortjo73 (1860) | 5 months ago | Oh! Sheesh! I don't know how I would handle that. It would all depend on how brave I was that night. I have moments where I am more brave and sure of myself than other times. If I am scared out of my whits, I might wake my friend and leave. If I am a little less afraid, I might be more likely to seek the couch for the night and sleep there. But, I might then be afraid that it would follow me to another part of the house. So, it really depends on how scared I am. I lived in a haunted house from 13 until I was 19 or 20 so, I already have experience with being haunted. There were times where that spirit would freak me out. Actually, I am certain that there were a few spirits but only one of them was a constant. I don't know if ghosts visit one another but, the one in my house at that time period was Joe. He was the previous owner. He could be a bit of a prankster when he was in the mood and, other times, he would just make his presence known. One time, and only one time that I know of, there was a female in my finished basement. I had a group of friends over for a slumber party. One of them and I were still awake watching "Home Alone" with MacCulley Culkin. She was to the left of me, up in a chair and suddenly a female voice said "what a smart young man" about MacCulley. She and I looked at one another as this female voice was between us. We didn't see anyone there and, neither of us had said it. It wasn't even either of our voices. We both giggled too because, it wasn't even something that either of us would say. It was very "adult" back then. And, the other three girls that were there were not between us so, they didn't say it as none of them could have thrown their voices, were within sight of my friend and I and, none of their lips moved. I don't know who the woman was and I never heard her again. The house that I am talking about is my mom and dad's and they still live there. Joe is still around. He was in full prankster mode while I was home for Christmas this past year. He called out my name in my Mom's voice. It was around midnight and my mom had been in bed for about an hour and a half so, and, I was just laying down for bed. Nowhere near asleep so, I didn't imagine it. I even walked out of the room to go to my mom but, she was in bed, also nowhere around me. I told my mom about it the next day and she said he does that to my Dad in her voice and to her in my Dad's voice. She will call their names and they will start talking to one another seeing what the other wanted and neither had called the other's name. So, I have been brave and scared in my mom and dad's house. In the case of an unfamiliar ghost, I might have to leave. Joe is familiar to me and I know he won't hurt me. He does freak me out sometimes. But, it is more the other ghosts that I am unfamiliar with that really wreck my nerves. Joe can stay, the others should leave!

dolce_vita78 (2705) | 5 months ago | Thank you very much for sharing your stories about Joe and the "others" in your family house.. It must have been a great experience. You are right, when "they" are known to you and you to "them", we feel a little better.

dolce_vita78 (2705) | 5 months ago | Yes, several times. In fact, my friends and some family said I must work on improving my third eye but I am afraid.

7. polofield32 (280) | 5 months ago | My grandfather used to tell us that there are some spirits in our house. There were times that I personally experienced some paranormal things at home and some of them really freaked me out. It was a bit scary then. I don't think that I would ever sleep in somebody else's house where some paranormal activities take place. If that happens to me then, I'll just have to scram and go home.

9. duranv (278) | 5 months ago | I remeber once a friend of mine was going on a trip and he asked to sleep in his house for the night, this house is supposed to be haunted, but I agreed anyway, I won't try to bore you but I did hear all kinds of noises, but what did it, was that I left the bathroom light on, and when I got up in the morning, that light was turned off and a light in the living room was on, so I just got out of there as fast as I could, and I can asure you I'll never sleep there or anywhere I hear is haunted. I know it might have been electrical wiring problems or whatever, at least I know the lights thing was certainly not my imagination, but at that moment it was not as funny as it is when I think of it now and try to explain it rationally.
