He's Brain Dead

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, I don't really feel like rehashing, forgive me for being so brief. I did a previous discussion about my uncle and how they thought he had Guallaine (sp?) Barre Syndrome (which can get bad, but people usually recover from)and he then developed an infection through another means that had nothing to do with GB. As I updated I told a few of you that they were no longer sure it was GB. He lasped into unconsciousness yesterday and today my dad made the 2 and a half hour trip to the hospital. The doctor told him and my Aunt Lana that he has seen three miracles in his career, and if Bobby (my uncle) didn't die, then he would then see a fourth. They are pretty sure whatever infection he had and whatever other original problem he had, worked together to reach his brain stem. He is pretty sure that my uncle is brain dead. Tomorrow they are doing an MRI to make sure. If he is, they will take him off the ventilator on Saturday, allowing time for other family to arrive. Besides my Aunt Lana having a hard time, my Aunt Ruth who is battling colon cancer is taking it hard too. I know it must remind her of when her husband was suddenly taken 10 years ago. Lana and Ruth are the closest of sisters and I hope they can go through this together. Please keep us in your prayers. And don't think it odd if you see me responding to your discussions despite this. I'm tired of crying and am trying to go about my normal activities. Thank you for all your support. -Amber

That is really sad and I am sure it is very hard for your family. I wish I can help somehow and I am not much of those who pray, but Ambie for you I will. Hoep the doctor will see the fourth miracle with your uncle Bobby.

Is it wrong for me to speak of faith? I assumed you were a Christian AmbiePam? Let me know immediately if I am wrong.

Jesus says - “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

I'm so saddened over the news. I'm so sorry Amber. Please know that you and your family are in my heart and I will say a prayer on your uncle's behalf. May God give you and your family the strength to endure what ever comes your way.

I know He will. If the worst happens, at least I know where my uncle will be in the afterlife.

I am so sorry that you and your family are going through this awful sad time and my thoughts and prayers are with you. This part of life is the cruellest and the hardest to bear, I sincerely hope that the doctor sees his fourth miracle. My husbands auntie has cancer, but unfortunately she is terminal and was only given 2 weeks to live last week, she is only in her late 40s so we too have the saddness to face. Keeping busy is a good thing it does not take the pain away but it helps to keep your mind occupied. Take care AmbiePam.

I'm sorry to hear that. I know there must be a reason for everything, but sometimes it is hard to see, isn't it.

Such sad news at this point. The wait to hear the results of the MRI have to be heart wrenching to say the least. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family friends and loved ones still. Who knows, maybe the Dr. WILL see his 4th miracle in his lifetime of treating patients. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I will continue to keep your family in my prayers for comfort and peace during this time. It touched me that the doctor believes in miracles and has witnessed three miracles, I pray that he witnesses a fourth miracle.
