is there one tv show that you just have to see, you ask everyone in the house to be quiet or go into another room while you are watching it.
Your refuse to answer the telephone and tell the family if they answer and it is for you you will call the person back.
If you get a chance to go out to do something with your friends, you tell them now thanks not this time you have to watch your show?
If so what is the show,
if not why not.

Absolutely!
It is called Torchwood and it is a spinoff from th British sci-fi series Doctor Who.
Torchwood is an anagram of Doctor Who.
The house could be burning down but I would not get up out of my chair to miss this.
I used to feel the same about Heroes but it's not on our schedules at the moment.

Well yeah I was like that with Charmed and House
. Love those two shows but now with alot of the reruns I don't watch it like before much ot my husbands delight since he hated
both shows. I have had people call but only half listened to what they said I couldn't tell you a thing about the discussion if asked about it later..
But now I stayed glued to the computer more often then not because like a good book you can onoly watch or read something so many times before you have it rememberized and it loses some if its sparkle which then you loose interest.

I have few shows that I refuse to miss, but since having a dvr it's ok if I miss them or not. I can have my dvr set to record all my shows. I can't miss watching Lost, Ghost Whisperer, Supernatural, and on the Sci Fi channel Jericho. Plus with the dvr, I can pause my show to answer the phone, or stop it completely so I can watch it later with no interruptions, which is normally during the day, when my kids are at school, and my husband is sleeping.

I've been a fanatic about a few different tv shows over the years, and I would tell friends not to even try to call me during those times it was on, unless it was a dire emergency. Back then, it was for ER and CSI.
I don't watch as much television nowadays, but the few shows I do watch, I want to see uninterrupted. I've been known to put my boys to bed early and ground them for bugging me during some of these shows too. LOL.. I'm such a wench sometimes!
It's Tuesday today, and one of my favourite shows is on tonight... "The Rick Mercer Report". I adore his political satire show! Tonight's show has him here in London, Ontario, apparently riding a bike with no brakes in the velodrome. Cool! (www.rickmercer.com).
The other show I am addicted to and will not even answer the phone when it's on, is "Heroes". I'm so upset that it won't be back until September 2008... sigh! But at least I have the Season 1 dvd set to keep me busy with a friend... if we ever get around to actually watching them all. lol.

I watched American Idol for only one season.. the one where Taylor Hicks won.
I watched Candian Idol religiously starting at season 2, and enjoyed watching with my boys. But last year, they had it start at 9pm, and that's too late for the boys.. that's when they go to bed. Sigh! Maybe they'll go back to an earlier timeslot this year... if so, I'll watch it again with my kids.
You're not behind the times in tv shows.. you just have different interests in shows. :) I recommend you try Rick Mercer... it's on at 8pm tonight on cbc.

I have watched that show but, I am not really impressed with the boy he acts too much like a baby, my grandson is the same age and talks and acts way older than he does.

YES....LOL LOST is the show I can't miss.. It's my show I guess you can say... There are so many parts that you have to watch with this in order for it to make any sense... But yes LOST is my number one tv show I can not miss no matter what... Sometimes though I wish I had TIVO so that I can pre record it and watch it when I can... wishful thinking lol...

I have a lot of shows that I really like—but there is a great new invention—it’s called the DVR… I make sure all of my favorite shows are being recorded—that way I can do other things—answer the phone- read with my daughter- etc.
The shows that are my favorite are:
Lost
Prison Break
Jericho
One Tree Hill
And Reality tv--- Big Brother, Biggest loser, Survivor, Dancing with the Stars

I would love to watch "Prison Break" without any interruptions but I got a toddler and an infant and they can't understand that is it Mama's favorite show. I got a DVR so I just recorded it and if I miss something, then I can review it laters on. I am also hooked on "House,M.D.", "Avatar" and AI with my husband. If the season will be over with my fave shows, usually I watch Travel Channel.

America's Next Top Model!
It's dreadful of me isn't it?! Monday night is my trash tv night and I never make any plans for when it's on.
I'm not too bad for the rest of the week, but that one hour is me time, invade it if you dare!

Oh yes quite a few, Most Haunted, is usually the one where I expect everyone to be silent or go away and I will never phone anyone when I know it is on, but I will still go out if I am invited. Which actually would never happen but I guess you never know!!

Yes, I am actually guilty of this one. I love to watch basketball. NBA basketball especially our own league here in the Philippines. My favorite team is playing on a championship series. My work is on a night shift at 10:30 pm and I am so happy that I would still be able to watch the series as it finishes at around 9:30pm. Then in this particular game, I think Game 4 it went to overtime. I keep on looking at the clock for the time. Even though the extra quarter is just 5 minutes , the game lasted for about 20mins more because of the time out and fouls. I decided that I would not just go to work because I would be so late. I just could not leave the exciting game.

My Name is Earl i LOVE that show. If i do have to miss it i always go to NBC and watch it online later...with the laptop hooked to the TV so its big.
So its not as much of a case of i will miss things to watch it when it comes on its more a case if i love the show and i gotta have my earl fix when a new one comes on. I have both Season one and Season two on dvd and if they release Season three on dvd i will get that one as well.
So often before they had shows available to watch online on the tv channels i would miss out on things that were going on to watch it..or other shows. where as now i'm content to watch it later on at my leisure

For me when I was younger, it used to be Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I was addicted to that show. EVERY Tuesday at 8 was Buffy time. I even had an entire wall of my bedroom covered in Buffy pictures, haha. Oh to be 12 again! But now I really like Grey's Anatomy...if I didnt have to wait until April 24th for a new episode!!

It never happens, cuz i have the Illico digital recorder, which i can record anything on tv with, so i always tape my shows, and watch them the next day, while i bottle feed my baby. But, if i didn't have that recorder, i'd say Lost is one of those shows i dont wanna miss or be bothered when i watch it. Also Grey's anatomy, Desperate Housewives.

i love coronation street and hate to miss it.However if i do have to work or go out i don't panic. There is a repeat at the weekend and i usually end up watching them.I would not let the tv programme rule though. There are other things to do in life.

Things were getting a little tense around our house during certain shows. Basketball, football for my husband and Lost, Grey's Anatomy and House for me. If someone came into the room and said something, and we missed what was said, or scored, it was traumatic. We broke down and got a DVR and I have to say we love it. No more missed shows, we can rewind the show when we miss something, skip the commercials, go out whenever we please. Life is better..

I don't watch much television these days but my favourite programme is Time Team with Tony Robinson.
I don't know if you get this over in the States but it is a programme about archeology and digging up Roman remains etc. I have always like history and this brings it more to life

I would have to say How I Met Your Mother and Big Brother are two. But, I have a Tivo so, I don't need to make sure I catch it as it is one. But, if I didn't have a Tivo, I would ignore the phone and command silence! LOL! I also really like Ghost Hunters, Lost, Supernatural and many more shows that would really have to be watched in silence! LOL!
