"Crossing the streams" or "encountering your future self": Which is worse?

I love movie quotes and I mix them into my playlist on my computer, so I just heard Doc Brown's quote about "encountering your future self" and it sounds pretty bad. It reminded me of the Ghostbuster's quote about "crossing the streams" though and I wondered which would be worse. Of course in the movies we get to see both and "encountering your future self" turns out to be no biggie, but which description of what COULD happen sounds worse? "All life as we know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body reversing at the speed of light" or "chain reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the space/time continuim and destroy the entire universe"

Crossing the streams has my vote. I'm just glad both quotes come from the realm of science fiction and we don't actually have to worry about it happening.

True. The problem is, like the Atom Bomb, some very destructive things have come around that would have seemed like Sci-Fi at one time! I'm not going to "cross the streams" or time travel to meet myself, just in case!

Well, the first would only be bad for you, the second would be bad for everybody/thing. So, the second is definitely worse.

Makes sense, although I'm not sure I got the whole Ghostbusters' quote there. Thanks!
