I am really wanting to find out about this, anyone has any idea?? Is it permissable to put a link or url in my comment or discussion topic that either I start or others start? Will mylot ban us from giving out urls in our discussions??
Thanks in advance folks ;)

The myLot guidelines do not allow links to be posted that:
"promote other affiliate programs"
There seems to be confusion on this point as I have seen some discussions where people have misunderstood the meaning of the rule.
I usually give details of a site and if people ask for the link I give it to them.

Hello jameskempton, thank you bro for your reply. So, let me get this clear, I can't post a url promoting another writing website or something, but I can describe in details the concept of it..?
Help me get this clear, thank you so much. But I've seen people giving out links, so that is not allowed, right?
Thanks in advance again bro ;)

posting url/link is allowed in your comments but be sure that it is not referral link/url because it is against mylot guidelines to post your referral link on any discussions. url is allowed to support your disccusions or comments if it is referring to news that are published online or some other matters copied.

As a few members have already mentioned, the only restriction is that you cannot use a referral URL. This is to avoid the site becoming an area rife with spam rather than a discussion forum.
many members place links in their discussions or responses, which is perfectly acceptable.

Hi zed as per my knowledge mylot doesn't allow you to post with referral link. But one can response to discussion with url but not referral url to help the one who has started the discussion. In some discussion generally the person asks help in terms of url and in that case it becomes necessary to post url to help the person.

If you want to promote Helium or some other earning site with a referral link you may put it on your profile page. Links which do not contain referrals should pertain to the discussion, and not be links that you have used elsewhere on myLot.
It is OK to network with myLot friends and exchange referral links in Private messages, too. At one time is was allowable to post referral links in replies, but then myLot changed its policy, so you will still see some of the links that have not been removed. That is confusing, but if people get around to reporting the referral (by using the ! for instance) then myLot will usually take it down right away.
Sometimes people will let you put your referral link on their profiles if they are your friends, but it is impolite to put them on without asking. When I was newer to myLot I found the official guidelines difficult to understand on some points, so asking around is a good idea. :-)

You can use a url just not a referral link. Until you have a rating of 500 though you cannot copy and paste url or anything else for that matter. I am still anxiously awaiting that time also. I was trying to do it with a news site earlier and couldnt.
