Is Led Zeppelin the best rock band of all time?  

I love me some Led Zeppelin!!!!! Best of all time, I am not sure. Without a doubt I would place them in the top five. Impressive record sales, that is for sure.

It would depend on each individuals definition of "best". Best selling? Probably. And without a doubt some of the best tunes in rock history. And very good in concert as a show, although (in my opinion) Page was a rather sloppy guitarist live. His studio craftsmanship is excellent, but I've heard several bootleg discs where he was missing notes or playing notes totally outside of the songs' scale structure. Still, a very impressive group as a whole, and one that will never be forgotten.

i love led zep but i must disagree with you and argue the point that AC/DC is the all time greatest band!! lol

I guess this is the changing times (or me getting old) but I was recently driving about 1,000 miles and I started channel surfing on the FM Radio. Heard Zeppelin, AC/DC, Queen, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and I started thinking who do I like the best?

Couldn't decide but Zeppelin was unique and loud. "Are they the best of all time?" gee that would be a big statement but certainly in the top 5, just love rock music as it was the original music.

Cavemen must have had rock music so I think it must be the original music.

But too bad J Bonham Sr is no more around. And robert plant seems to have lost his voice.
What i can say thier songs are vintage. Still sound good although how many times i listened to them.

I love Zeppelin! I think zeppelin redfined music as we know it. I really wanted to see them up in london, but i didnt get to :( But yeah i think their the best rock band

Yeah even though I was born a little after when they were popular. I still love their music. They are one of my favorite rock bands to listin too.

I certainly love them and the interesting thing is that my kids and many of their friends do too. So that should make them that good.
Are they the best? I guess they can share that honor with some other great bands. But they're certainly up there.

They are undoubtedly up there with the best of them and have stood the test of time! I would put Queen up there as well. I only just recently downloaded an album of theirs with all the classics like "one Vision"; "Don't stop me now" etc and I still find it as engaging as ever!
