Rat Terriors

Does anyone have one of these little dogs? mine is very quiet in the house but when he gets outside man he barks away so i cant leave him out much. but he is a strange dog when we got him at 6 months he was scared of everything. I think they must have been mean to him he was a runt and like 4 pounds . now he is about 8 pound but he begs u to pick him up but when you do he goes stiff , but begs you again to pick him up. I wonder why he does that?

My rat terrier is now 13 yrs old. He has diabetes and he is almost totally blind. He is a good dog. He, too, was scared of lots of things when he was a pup. He didnt like Thunder at all and he still dont. Im not sure about the picking up issue...that is kinda strange

Our first dog that my husband and I had was a rat terrier. He got ran over by a car. He was also quiet in the house but barked alot outside. He dug the ground alot too. My Pomeranian begs us to pick him up also and then goes stiff. I think that is just in alot of dogs behavior.
