Do you think the Sports Media makes stories up

A perfect example of this are the Brett Favre rumors that started this week; the ones that he was in discussions with other teams about a come back. The second I read them, I knew there was no truth. First, he's still under contract with the Packers. No team can talk to him without their permission. Secondly, it seemed like a bit of a coincidence the "reports from NFL sources" happened to start right around April Fools day. I think the sports media, especially ESPN, tends to make up some of their news.

There will always be the rumor mill. People actually feed on that. But Brett Favre was interviewed by Greta on Fox News last night. I think he put those rumors to rest. He really wants to play for Green Bay again. He feels like he was rushed into retirement by them because they would not let him wait until camp to make up his mind if he was 100% sure he was able to give it his all. Well, he is now, and they have already hired 2 quarterbacks to replace him and one has been given his starting position. He realizes they will probably not let him play, so instead of staying under contract with them, he wants to be released so he can see if someone else wants him. Green Bay,so far, has been unwilling to release him. Apparently, they are afraid they may have to face him in a game. If he's no good to them, what are they afraid of? IF the new quarterback is better than Brett, why not release him. Apparently, they know Brett is the best and they are not giving him an option to show how good he really is. I am sure the media has really milked the rumors of Brett going to another team, but right now, it definitely is not true.

They got a job to do and are always wanting to come up with new content even if it sounds somewhat silly. There on 24 hours so they have to have something to talk about.
