All right I was so bored I was looking up some dumb laws.
Pennsylvania dumb law
1.Any motorist who sights a team of horses coming toward him must pull well off the road, cover his car with a blanket or canvas that blends with the countryside, and let the horses pass.
Ok how many of you would be willing to pull off the road then put that handy dandy tarp that automatically changes the car to blend in with the scenery? Are they insane?
2.A person is not eligible to become Governor if he/she has participated in a duel.
Well I guess we are just going to have to forgo having goveners aren't we unless we start have dueling as a new spectator sport. LOL!! What do you think ? Would you be willing to buy a ticket?
3.You may not sing in the bathtub.
Dang and I really wanted to sing in the bath tonight oh well guess it will have to be the shower so I don't get in trouble. La la la.. LOL!!!
4.Any motorist driving along a country road at night must stop every mile and send up a rocket signal, wait 10 minutes for the road to be cleared of livestock, and continue.
This has me rolling on the floor. I think I need to do this just for the humor of it and then when a cop asks I'll have to tell it state law don't you know. LOL!!!
5.A special cleaning ordinance bans housewives from hiding dirt and dust under a rug in a dwelling.
Hmmm no dust bunnies allowed under a rug better warn the kids about their room so that they can stop hiding the bunnies. LOL!!!
6. It it illegal to sleep on top of a refrigerator outdoors.
ok be honest how many of you have a refrigerator outdoors just so you can sleep on it .. come on don't lie. LOL!!!
7. It is illegal to have over 16 women live in a house together because that constitutes a brothel.
Hmm I guess that leaves having baby and wedding showers out. LOL!!

I think it would be unwise to pull over a horse in any possible circumstances or positions, it could be dangerous in many different ways!:-)
It is very interesting to know about some of the laws which only GOD knows when and why were put there in first place. There are such laws in every country, I guess. They are mostly obsolete as far as practice is concerned but they still have survived in law books and are not revoked.
Anyway, laws about pulling over car, singing while bathing, all those dos for motorist driving along a country road and sleeping over refrigerator are hilarious. I wonder why they were put there in first place!:-)

I had to chuckle and think what the heck where they thinking when they made these. Who would ever use a Fridge as a bed bets me and the country road and flares. wow I just don't have the time nor the money but I really think it would be funny to experiment with that and see how fast we can get that law revoked here. I would love to get a bunch of my friends and some road flares and go out and do it. LOL!!See what the cops have to say. LOL!!!

I love the spin you put on the end of each one how funny was that. i tell you, you would think that they were smart enough to take some of these dumb laws off the books, i guess they are to busy hiding dust bunnies and sleeping out side on refrigerators to take care of that

You actually have one dumb law in the phillipines I checked. Becuase there is always at least one and this is it. LOL!!
Cars whose license plates end with a 1 or 2 are not allowed on the roads on Monday, 3 or 4 on Tuesday, 5 or 6 on Wednesday, 7 or 8 on Thursday, and 9 or 0 on Friday from 7:00 A.

16 women living in a house constitutes more than a brothel LOL I wouldn't want to live in a house with than many women! It was bad enough with 3 of us in one house when I was growing up, and then I had two daughters! LOL 16, nooooo way! LOL I want to go with ya on that night ride, hell, I'll even light the flares! Wow that is so harsh and they actually enforce those things. Wow I think I'm begining to love the states even more. Though they may be a pain I don't need a licenses to buy a t.v. and I don't have to leave my land to my oldest son .. Yeah me.

LOL. I had to respond as I live in Pennsylvania. I had no Idea we had these "laws"! The horse one makes me laugh! I can see it now. Every time the omish pass people are jumping out of there cars and covering them. LOL!! We just drive by in the other lane.

You know actually we do have a lot of livestock especially cows that cross the road. Most people have the farm on one side and the pasture on the other and have to transfer the animals by crossing the road. I have seen it before.
My husband and I were driving on a back road and all of a sudden there is a cow in the road. We slow and wait for it to move but then another cow comes and another and another. Finally there were about 50 cows crossing the road. LOL! At the end of it there was a big bull who stopped and faced us and snorted like he was challenging us. LOL! It was kinda scary. I didnt know if he was going to charge the car or not. He stood there for say 5 minutes untill the farmer came and smacked him on the bum. He moved and we went on our way. What a fun night that was!
Where can I get my Rocket Signals at?? LOL! I might need them in the future!

LOL! thats what I thought. Sending up a rocket would spook the animals into running in the road.

Imagine you, going to another state, but you have to stop every mile. What in the hell!
Or having to pull over because of horses?
Really strange laws. I don't know if my state has any of those. I should be more careful, perhaps it is forbidden to breath near trees! Hahaha

In my home state, not where I live now, old laws were no spitting in public, no swearing if ladies are within sight, no letting horses just stand they must be tied to the hitching post.If there are ladies present and mud puddles must help ladies across the puddles or get fined. if you want to take a bath you must have ten cents on you; this was at public bath houses . these of course are very old but still on the books. I am sure that here in California there are somesilly laws still on the books too.

Bathhouses are against the law.(NO BATH FOR YOU!)
Animals are banned from mating publicly within 1,500 feet of a tavern, school, or place of worship.(huh)
In Chico city here is a law that is stupid
Bowling on the sidewalk is illegal.

No these are acutual laws from way back in the older days .. They don't enforce them anymore but they are still in the books and could be enforced if they wanted to . LOL!!!
