It's not the first time! A video was posted on You Tube this week, in which some Florida teens beat up a 16-year-old girl, whom they had lured to the home under false pretense. Their only motivation was to make a video, and they beat the girl so badly that she sustained a concussion.
This has to stop! What do you think could, and should be done to prevent these videos from being made and put on line?

I've never been a fan of banning. Often it doesn't solve the problem, but simply makes it more hidden.
If you want to ban this type of video you would have to ban most videos that show any certian amount of violence. This will in turn create an uprising of people crying out for freedom of speech.
The internet is a very difficult medium to regulate. Freedom of speech is allowed in most countries, and because of this you have to realize that it means there are many things we don't want to see or want our children to see. We then have to be the regulators. We have to watch what our children watch. And see how they react to certain things and then direct them accordingly. Parents as a whole have become way to lax in how we monitor our children. Children cry for freedom, but many parents give too much of it.
Banning is not the answer. As far as teens and children go, the parents need to monitor better, the internet as well as their children's behavior.

Kids need to be thought self-governmet & not to be allowed to choose whatever they like. When they understand self-government, between what's right & wrong they'll know which to choose. No offense, but sad to say so many times the term "freedom of speech" is a license for 1 to go to the extreem especially in the west where it seems like the guys that make the most money out of it all are the lawyers with ridiculous court cases going around.

No offense taken. I agree that our society has a twisted perspective as well as a thick vein of hypocrisy. People go to the extreme, spouting freedom of speech, and yet those very same people will scream in protest if someone of a different view goes to the extreme as well.

It makes me sick to my stomacj that these kids are doing this to each other. What in the world is going on in their minds? My daughter is 16 years old and she tells me that kids at her school meet up with each other and plan the fight and video it. they then put it on You Tube also. I don't think You Tube should allow it either.

I live in Florida and this troubled me.
Yes..I believe that any time You Tube gets a video of an unlawful act, they should refuse to post it and immediately report it to the police. This left the girl beaten with visual impairment, hearing impairment and minimal brain damage! It should never have gotten any "play" time anywhere!(Not there..not on TV!)
It was disgusting and I hope al involved get the book thrown at them in court and during sentencing time.

True. This is not the first time that a video like this has been posted on the Internet. yes, it would be nice if they could banned those videos especially when they are doing that on purpose but I should say that even they banned some videos like that, there will always be site or people who would keep on posting. It is really really sad that the purpose of that beating is to make a VIDEO! I think the best example is for the government or police especially parents to do something about it for those teenagers to be taught a lesson (not in the bad way) so that they would understand the importance of life.
