That was so very brave of him, what a hero he is. I'm so proud of these men and women protecting our country. Prayers to his family.

That was very brave of him to sacrifice his life for those of his fellow officers. I am glad that his parents were give the medal at a ceremony like that to honor their son.

My ability to really converse about Bush's War is limited. I don't want to seem too bitter. I don't know anything about foreign relations, so I can't speak with confidence there. However, I find the death of men and women, enemy and ally, sad unless it is for a truly pressing reason. I would suppose that Monsoor's parents believed it was a mark of honor for the President to award their son this honor. However, I almost see it a insulting. After all, this is Bush's personal War and their son was killed in the process. The man giving out the medal avoided going to war when it was his turn. To me, there is something about that which is fundamentally flawed.

Yes. I know this discussion is dated back some time ago and I am just now getting around to answering it, but I know we have lost alot of soldiers in Iraq. I am very greatful to them for fighting the war for us but we have lost enough lives over there. It is time for our troops to come home and let Iraq fight it the rest of the way. I think we have done more than enough there and things just seem to get worse or never change and we are losing too many lives.
