Do you like exotic teas and drinks such as Lemon Balm tea, Green Tea, Valerian Tea, Ginseng/other Herbal Tonic, Kava Kava...etc...etc...and do you think any of these elixirs work in terms of providing natural relaxation or exhileration? We all know of the effects of alcohol and other intoxicants. But they are harmful. Does a harmless natural substance that relaxes or exhilerates to marked degree actually existon this earth? Or are we effectively talking about something that remains a delicious fantasy?

I have only tried Lipton tea and I didn't like it.I haven't tried any other. I always wondered what I would drink if I were English? What does a child have to drink at tea?

Isn't it ironic that we Yanks are drinking tea and you Brits are drinking coffee?I am sorry the tradition of tea is fading.Do you really have teas with a burger and French Fries?Wow.Would it be okay for me to have lemonade with a traditional tea?If I ever get to the U.K. I would have a tea but without tea.

Sure, not everyone drinks tea. I often drink coffee at trad tea time if I'm seeing friends, in fact, I almost never drink tea with friends, always coffee. My friends far prefer it too.

Wow. I am sorry it just tickles me. Forgive me but I have to my mind around you Brits enjoying coffee a little more than tea. You got to understand that I am seeing a mini series on John Adams and I just saw The Boston Tea Party. If George III only knew that Brits would be drinking coffee...

We drink all kinds of tea. I am always buying something different. I think drinking tea to an extent can help extend your life just because it causes you to relax.

I drink herbal teas as well as regular tea. I also drink coffee, and flavored coffee. Teas with guarana provide stimulation, others relax. Green tea adds energy. Chamomile and Valerian teas are supposed to help you relax and sleep. The problem with Chamomile is that if you have an allergy to ragweed it will be aggravated by chamomile, because they are the same family.

I never really took to Guarana; It seemed a a little like caffeine, a very mild stimulant effect, with too much making you nervy. I've not seriously tried Green tea but would like to. Valerian is also supposed to have a sedative effect.

I have tried the green tea before. It is okay but it is not something that I would want to drink on a regular basis. I like to drink regular tea, coffee and soft drinks most of the time. I also like to make sure to drink plenty of water and milk.
