A Mayberry Kind of Day

I was pleasantly surprised when I tuned to a local station today and found they were running back-to-back episodes of the Andy Griffith Show. I think I watched six of them and it was thoroughly enjoyable. I used to love this show so much. It also brought home to me just how much our world has changed since then. Life was simpler. People had values. Opie thought he was rich upon finding a wallet containing $50. Gee, I sure do miss Mayberry! What about you?

Sure, julyteen. It was an old TV show aired during the 1960s that featured life in a small rural town, and Andy Griffith was the star who played the local sheriff who was a widowed father raising his small son and teaching him the right values. It was a very good show.

Yes, I do miss the program. I agree about how simple life was back then and how times have changed. It was safe to walk the streets after dark, ride a bicycle after dark or simply ride a bike anytime. Not as much traffic. Twenty-five cents or less would buy a gallon of gas. In some ways I believe the laid back lifestyle still exists in smaller towns. Don't have the ratrace of being in a hurry to get nowhere like life is in a big city. Opie sure had a great career as a result of the program. The innocent little boy who turned producer has done a fantastic job.

well I loved the show too, but Mayberry was small town and I always lived in a big city so things naturally would be different. Happy Days was closer to a big city, but yes of course values have changed over time, and, if I found a wallet with 50.00 today I would feel rich too, I have hardly any money to live on.

I love this show also. Its on in the late afternoon in my area. I grew up in a little place where everyone knew me and those times were wonderful. Stress was a lot less and we didn't worry about money like today.

I grew up in the same kind of environment, Fishmomma, and almost everything was better in those days.

I love to watch the Adny Griffith Show. I watch it every day at 4:00 a.m. I also rent Andy Griffith movies from Netflix each month also. It is so funny and I love how kind the people used to be in that town.
