I have to admit...lately I haven't given myself a lot of time to watch some of my DVD movies that I have in a long, long time...heck I practically live in front of the computer now. I was watching a rather old entertainment show on TV that showed scenes of the movie National Treasure: Book Of Secrets (a movie I haven't seen but would love to get..looks up my alley)--and they had a segment with one of the stars, Jon Voight..and for some reason that made me think of another movie he was in...Lara Croft: Tomb Raider--so turned off the tv and grabbed my DVD copy of it and watched it...and fell in love with this movie all over again ....I fell in love with it the very first time I saw it, back when I had cable (no longer have it....cable that is...sniffle) I just loved the character Lara Croft's kickass attitude, her adventurous spirit, and the whole bit of archeology thing as at one time in my life I was thinking of becoming one (hence my love too for the Indiana Jones series of movies as well--heck I still have my actual Stetson Fedora hat just like his)...I don't think anyone else could have portrayed Lora Croft like Angelina Jolie --of course guys who watched this movie for her figure, and we women were a bit envious of...hey she IS gorgeous! Anyway...do you ever watch a movie you haven't seen in awhile and love it all over again? What are some of your favorite movies you love to watch that you haven't watched in awhile and remember just why you loved it in the first place?

I would have to say one of my favorite movies is " Somewhere in time", Christopher Reeves played the lead, with Jane Seymore. It was such a sad romantic story. I have seen this movie on TV on and off since it first aired on TV around 1980. It is still one of my favorites, now I might just look for it online and download it and burn it to a cd.

one that comes to mind is "the cat from outer space" it was an old disney movie-but i named my first cat after the cat in the movie (jake). he had a glowing collar he could do things with (move objects and the like) and was on earth looking for supplies. here is the imdb page if you want to check it out http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077305/

Boy people are naming some great movies that I happen to love and this is on of them. I love Jake in there and all the actors as well. I'm going to have to pop this one in and watch it. It's been a while but it is such a cute movie. I l love the pool hall section in particular.

I want to see "National Treasure 2" as well. That looks good. Actually there are several movies coming out this summer that look good A movie I hadn't watched in a while but got to recently was "ffolks" (both lower case f's) or it's also known as "North Sea Hijack". I loved watching it again and seeing Roger Moore play a cat loving, woman hating man. Let alone watching him do needle work. He plays a specialist for counter terrorists in England. He's hired when two oil rigs are taken hostage in the North Sea. It also has Anthony Perkins and James Mason in it. Very good movie that really keeps you going. One I'd recommend to anyone. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081809/

I love The Final Countdown, I just love a good time travel movie. I didn't find the "good looking hero" to my taste, I was a bit more for the "good looking reporter" secondary hero, but more than that, I was into the whole story. I have an online friend that is into the Goblin King (David Bowie) in Labrynth

I love "The Final Countdown". Most people I know have never heard of it. I actually found it on DVD and have it. It's a fantastic time travel movie. Martin Sheen was excellent in it. Have you ever seen "The Philadelphia Experiment"? It's another good one as well although I didn't like the sequel at all for it.

Yeah, I saw The Philadelphia Experiment, but I can't say I loved it, tho the effects were pretty good. I didn't see/know about the sequel. I do know something of the background on the making of Final Countdown, for one thing, the writer wanted the admiral to decide to not to fight the Japanese, but the navy said they would not cooperate (no filming on the ships) if he did not change that. I happen to agree completely with the U.S. Navy on that point - if any military man could interfere and stop the attack on any other military institution, they would have to do so. And, the Nimitz museum is located in Fredericksburg, that is about an hour or so away from Austin (and where my allergiest used to be located before he retired.)

Yes I have. A movie came out when I was 16. It starred Tom Hanks. I loved this movie. Well recently they showed it on cable. I have watched it twice this week. It's called "Nothing In Common" and it is fantastic. But then again I am a Tom Hanks fan.

Growing up my parents were very vigilant in what I saw. So I grew up on old movies, including musicals. I loved Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music, Singin' in the Rain, and the like. Oh, and my sister loves the movie Somewhere in Time. I bought it for her one year for her birthday. You have good taste, my friend. : )

What did you think of the sequel to Tomb Raider? Do you know my dad doesn't think Angelina Jolie is attractive? He isn't one to know which stars are which, because he just isn't into the latest Hollywood news or movies, and one day he asked who the woman on TV was, and I said it was Angelina Jolie. He couldn't see why people thought she was pretty. I have to say, at that time I felt a great appreciation for my dad. LOL A movie I don't watch a lot, but when it comes on TV, I can't not watch it, is Wild Hearts Can't be Broken. It is hands down an awesome movie. My sister bought it in VHS form, and when it came on DVD, she bought it in that format too!

Yes, I would have to say that the movie that did this to me in recent years was Guys And Dolls. When I was still living at home my sister Vicky and I used to love to watch this movie and last year I watched it after not seeing it in years and I fell in love with it all over again. I love that movie and I love the musical aspect of it too. Plus, come on, Marlon Brando was so HOT!!!

Hasn't happened to me with a movie lately, but it did happen to me with a couple of pieces of music that I had not heard in a long time, that I recently found on some old records that I had stored in my apartment. It's a great feeling!!

I have loads of dvd movies collection. I love movies with John Travolta in it. He is a really very good actor and he really plays all his roles well..I don't mind about watching his movies allover again..I never tire of it ..they were all good. I liked the movie Face off and would love to watch it again. I have already watched it a lot of times already but I wouldn't mind watching it again. He was with Nicholas Cage in that Movie were in he played the bad guy. Then they switched faces and lives. It was really good.. I recently fell in love with Transformers.I haven't watched it just a part of it and I was loving it already. I just finished watching it today on the dvd though. It was real great. I am planning to buy the original copy of it even if it's expensive. It's a collection and a must have.

The old King Kong movie was on television the other day. We got interested in it because they were also going to show the follow up version of King Kong, then the newest release of it. We watched all three versions. The first one ended up being a bit comical, compared to the modern version. The second one was okay, but the third one with Adrien Brody and Jack Black literally made me weep...... I had never seen the third version and I must say, it was the absolute best version I had ever seen of the classic movie. I couldn't believe I was weeping for Kong like was I was. I will surely watch it again. Another great one is Somewhere In Time. It always makes me cry. Cat On A Hot Tin Roof is another favorite of mine and the old classics like Peyton Place and Return to Peyton Place are movies I stop everything for, grab a blanket and big bowl of popcorn - plop down on the sofa and watch wide-eyed.

I never cared for the original version of King Kong to be honest...but yup did love the one with Adrian Brody in it--fell in love with that guy, he has a real romantic charm to him, doesn't he? Hehe. And yep too...I loved how Peter Jackson made you feel for Kong and made him "sensitive"

I like to watch a lot of older films (Twelve Angry Men,Blackboard Jungle,) for several reasons. One being that the emphasis was on the writing of the script rather than relying on action sequences to sell to the masses. The actors (Sidney Poitier,Liz Taylor,Henry Fonda etc..) seemed to also be better at their craft than most of those in existance today.Of any of the more modern films I do think that GLADIATOR was spectacular.

You're right of course...the older say 1930, 1940 movies were quality as it relied more on the story and not razmataz special effects...zooming up a bit even the first three (or should say last three of the series) of Star Wars was better, Chaps. 4, 5, 6--the ones that started it all.
