Let's Get Rich Quick...NOT...

I see ad’s all the time online about joining a site and becoming rich. “Make money online with no effort” “Be a Millionaire overnight” “The secret to being a Millionaire” These are just a couple that I’ve seen. I’ve also seen a lot of ppl that come on MyLot and start asking “How do I make the big bucks FAST” and when they find out that they actually have to put forth some effort (or a lot of effort) they leave and never come back. Don’t ppl realize that if it were really that easy to be rich, wealthy or a millionaire that EVERYBODY would be one? I was always taught that you work for what you want and put forth the effort. A lot of ppl don’t seem to be doing that…it’s like their looking for the big pot of gold to be handed to them…I got a news flash…it isn’t going to happen. Unless Lady Luck is really in a good mood most ppl won’t win the lottery. Their going to have to work for it. MyLot does pay and they are one of the few sites that I’ve actually seen that are good about it but like anything in life…you have to work at it. They aren’t just going to hand you money randomly b/c your awake and breathing. So, do you get sucked into the whole “Get Rich Quick” schemes or do you play by the old rules and prefer to work for what you want? Do you daydream about winning it big so you can retire from the human race? **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

The only get rich scheme that even remotely works involves a ski mask...& if you've ever watched Americas Dumbest Criminals you'll see that doesn't always work either LOL. You could try buying lottery tickets but that's the biggest scam ever. 99.9% of the people who play end up losing far more than they'll ever win.

In the state I live in, our lottery money goes toward education. I don't think it's a scam...I may not win every time, but at least some of the money I spent is going toward something good!

You'd be better off just donating it to the school. My point was that if your playing it expecting to get rich then you've been scammed.

Having the money from the lottery go to education, just give the state an excuse to cut th education budget from other sources. It does not result in any more money going to the schools that would have gone in the first place. Plus, eventually lotteries start losing money because people realize their odds of winning suck, so they stop playing.

I know what you mean. It amazes me sometimes how people will fall for these. I mean common sense should tell them that nothing is that easy. Oh you might luck out now and then and get a few bucks for free or easily but for the most part if you want to get money you have to earn it, one way or another. I agree Mylot does pay but when I first joined it I was sceptical. I mean a site paying me to be active on it? It seemed unlikely but it does but you have to be active. You can't just sit back and expect the money to appear. I wish it would, sure make life a lot easier wouldn't it? Now I might still play the lottery. I'm allowed to dream and maybe, just maybe lady luck will surprise me. Still if she doesn't at least I donated a dollar or two towards education.

Right on. So many people just want to get rich fast. Or they just want money for a specific thing fast and think they will get it on the internet. Better to save your money and live within your means than believe there is some miracle moneymaker out there. I have more money from saving and paying down my debt than I ever made off the internet.

"Make money online with no effort" that one can be done but you wont make millions If you don't put in some effort it will only make a few dollars. You can't depend on your referrals forever, you have to keep them motivated and that takes some effort. You can make thousands if you have the right product and know how and to whom to market it to. That takes work and some people just hate to do that. If you take notice the people who make the most online have hundreds if not thousands of people selling their product for them. A good software program or e-book is hardly ever sold by the person who made them. Some affiliates do make good money selling other peoples programs, e-books and software. But they have to work hard at it. Yes we all dream of hitting the big time but we have to work at that too. No matter what we do it all comes down to "work" online or off line. No work, no pay!

Well i have seen people come on mylot expecting to make a bundle of money, and mylot does pay but no one is going to just give you money for nothing....Nothing is free, and you do have to work for the money you make..Thats in anything you do,there is no get rich free schemes...Any time you do anything you have to work,i do not understand why people think you can sign up to a forum and just start drawing tons of money...In my day and i say that because in my younger days i have got involved in those get rich quick schemes and it s just not true....I think maybe people from other countries might fall for those schemes, because they claim America is the land of opportunty....

You are exactly right. I have joined several sites that really do pay, but you actually have to make them work for you. They're not easy. And, most of them involve recruiting other people if you really want to make a lot of money, faster. If you are good at recruiting people, then you might make money easier than other people. But, most people aren't that good at recruiting others. I know my family, friends, and co-workers are sick of me asking if I can send them links to these places. And, those that do sign up under me rarely do anything that would help me earn any money. But, I do the work on my own and it helps with having a little bit of extra money coming in from here and there sometimes. But, I don't expect to earn a living on it and it's definitely not reliable. It's much easier and faster getting an actual job somewhere and earning money that way.

I work by the sweat of my brow as they say. I don't believe in get rich quick schemes. The old adage says, if it sounds too good to be true it usually is. I believe in that principal as well. I do okay here on mylot but I work my butt off for it as well.

I have never believed in get rich quick, and further more, if it was possible, I wouldn't want it. I know that sounds strange, but follow me for a minute here. A good number of people that win the big lottery are broke again within a year or two. Why is that? Because they didn't have to work for the money. They didn't appreciate having that money, because it was dropped into their laps. So they spend and spend and take out credit when the money is gone and finally they are bankrupt. I will be rich one day, but I don't mind working long and hard for it. It just means that when I reach my goal, I will appreciate it because I will know all the hard work that went behind it.

I had been suckered into a few of these, even though my main goal was just to supplement my regular income instead of "getting rich quick." One of them involved selling water purifiers and so-called "health products" (snake oil pills.) The other involved getting selling a package of financial advice over the Internet to at least three people (the first two sales went to my supervisor,) then getting each of them to make three sales, etc. I wound up spending more on products and paying monthly charges for a Web page than I would have made from a few sales each month. I read statistics that only 1% of Americans who reach age 65 are considered wealthy, and about 74% of that 1% got there by making an effort to build their own businesses. On the other hand, only 1% of the 1% got rich through the lottery or an inheritance.

In my opinion I love the possibility of earn money by the internet because you´ve your own times and days, and the most important no boss. Some pages are what in my country Argentina we call fraude or in the U.S.A scam sites, this means that they don´t pay you. I am considering the posibility of not joining to all that business that to enter you´ve to pay an amount of money. It´s obvious that it depends on the quantity of referrals or friends you´ve invited to join the page, and you don´t make rich but money gives you security and also the posibility of spend it in things you want to buy or in services. Have nice day ! Martín !

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I fell for a couple when I first started, but now I am wiser. I work around 3 sites usually. All three pay and I make a decent amount focusing on them rather than 100 different sites. I can't complain. They also have to involve things I enjoy doing. I don't dream of being rich. I am happy with my life. I might play a scratch off here and there or hit the casino once or twice a year, but I do not expect to win. I know it takes work to earn money. People can get luck once in a while, but I only count on what I earn.

Ithink we all dream of the big money thing. Reality is cruel sometimes. If it looks too good to be true, it usually is.

I would prefer to work hard and earn what I can online, away from home or both. In fact, I do both. I know my part time job will pay me for the hours I work and also know myLot will do the same. Both are reliable. The get rich scheme is just that, a scheme. As a rule, I don't invest in online programs. Only recently did I invest in something and will know in a month or so whether or not I want to continue. It was through Clixsense and also know they are reliable in their payouts. If the program is worthwhile and a fairly good money maker, I'll continue. My parents taught me at a young age that I must work and work hard. Nothing will be handed to me just because I am blonde. I believe in that theory and was able to instill this theory in our children.

hi twoey. I share your opinion about getting rich quick. It always needs some of our effort to see results. I earn online for few years, but it is only additional cash, of course:). I know that if I want to get some cash or have referrals to help me to earn more, I have to spend some time online first. Happy posting, jazgottt.

I don't feel that I get sucked into the get rich quick scam but it doesn't mean I am not always looking for ways to get rich. I do wish it was as easy as they say but I know the truth is it isn't. Good old fashion hard work is what we have to do to get there.

Well, I'm one of those people who believes in working smarter not harder. I believe in business ,but in any type of genuine business is important to be persistent. Not everybody has a business mentality and this is why so many people fail in business and they think that working 9-5 is the only way to make money. It all depends because some people are excellent employees and others are extraordinary entrepreneurs.

My dad always said, "If something sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't true". That's the point with the get rich quick schemes. They're all BS. The only way to get rich (without inheriting a bunch of dough) is to work really hard.
