Hi there Slickcut! Nope, no bike ride this weekend, just wishful thinking.. instead we were working in the yard and then attaching a winch to an ATV.. The weather all weekend was great! We should've at least taken a little break and taken a ride.. course then who's to guarantee we'd have come back to finish the work!
- We do go on rallys however, usually just locally.. Tho last year we took a visit to Vermont (for a wedding) and hauled the bike with us and then took a couple of days to ride into New Hampshire. Hubby was really happy about that as it just so happened it was the date of the big annual rally in New Hampshire.. I'm trying to think of the name of it.. Don't ya hate that when something's on the tip of your tongue but you just can't quite reach it? [Laconia Bike Week!] Unfortunately we didn't get to stop at the rally as lo and behold it started raining and we had to head back that day and being 100 miles away we decided we better book on home before we got thoroughly soaked, as it was also rather chilly.. It was very interesting just tooling on through along with a crowd of other bikes.. Neither of us have ever been to Sturgis either.. Tho hubby wants to go, so hopefully we will.. We do a lot of runs, either organized or just with some friends.. Can't wait! I have no desire for my own bike, but like to zone out on the back.. (while keeping an eye open) closest thing to flying there is..
- We saw some very awesome scenery in New Hampshire as we rode along the "Gangamangas Pass". Yeow! Mountains..

Well im not a Harley person myself..but i felt i had to reply to your post....im in the UK...and we are in the east midlands..
Harley `meets` are a big thing around here...there is a place called Matlock which is a few miles away from us..where every weekend the Harleys all meet up....
Every year they have a big gig at Pentrich....with some top rock bands...

Hey! That's really neat to know! I know where the big annual ones are here in the states, but never really thought about ones overseas and in other countries. We have local meeting spots too.. and popular biker taverns.. Hubby and I do a number of "bike runs" each year, some are organized for the sake of charity, "toys are tots" etc, or for a local charity.. and some are just for fun..
Thanks for posting such interesting info!

The Harley is still parked in the drive, although he has had it out a couple of times for a short ride, we're in PA. He'll start riding it to work next week, and I'm looking forward to our first daytrip, we usually take a long weekend trip sometime in the summer. What do you own?

Hubby has a 2003 (100th anniversary issue, his baby!) plus his two older bikes, two 1964 harleys.. one stock, one chopped. The Chopper he brought home, about 25 years ago, all in cardboard boxes. It was his second bike. He had a BSA when he was 18/19? We usually take three or four longer road trips each year, first one being over Memorial Day weekend for a camping trip, and another camping ride for Labor Day weekend if the weather isn't horrible. It's about a three hour ride, a couple of years ago we rode home in the rain all the way
.
- We take quite a few road trips each year, more so now than when we were younger! seeing as each summer whizzes by faster and faster..!
Hope you have a good summer!
