I got my hair cut yesterday because I was bored, and, with the summer approaching and warmer weather moving in, it's cooler to have shorter hair, evn if only just a little bit...
Anyway, I figured I would get it cut above my shoulders, and that would be about 4 inches or so. I guess I didn't realize quite how long my hair was because the hairdresser told me she took about 8 inches off! I was shocked but okay with it. I'm not the type who gets upset over how much hair is cut off.
I'm not sure if this is ever the most hair I've gotten cut off at once before, but how about you? What is the most amount of inches that you've trimmed off your hair at one sitting?

I have been growing my hair out. The last cut I got was above my chin. Way to short for me. It was cool and didn't look bad. The one thing I missed about having longer hair was being able to put it up in a ponytail to keep it out of my face. Now I am able to do it again. I want to keep the length to just below my shoulders, but styled so I can enhance my facial features.
The first time I cut off over 10 inches, and did the same the second time. Both times my hair was waist length. I had such long hair envy though. It was tough to not let it grow back.

Yeah -- that's something I'd forgotten about when I was getting it cut -- the ablility to put it back into a ponytail. It will only take a couple weeks for it to grow long enough for me to do this, and I don't really mind too much.

Well I did go from long hair to short hair once, and I had I would say about 15 inches caught off. I was going through a phase where I just wanted to look as different as I could and it was kinda a shock for awhile. Also it was so easy to wash and my head felt so light.

Wow, that is quite a lot of hair to be losing. I don't like my hair short, even if it means that I am going to be hot. I've never liked the way I look with short hair. My boyfriend also likes my long hair, so I keep it that way. I've gotten quite a bit cut off in one sitting, when I cut my hair from the middle of my back all the way above my shoulders. I didn't like it afterwards, and was greatful that it grew back fairly quick.

About a month ago I had 11 1/5 inches of hair cut off. I donated my hair to Locks of Love. An organization that makes hair pieces for children with different diseases which cause them to loose their hair.
I was very nervous because I had never had more than a couple of inches taken off but I felt great after I did it because I knew it was for such a great cause.
And I love my new hair cut!!

Congrads. I hope you are happy with your new cut. They say it takes two weeks to get used to a new hairstyle.I have never had a huge amount of hair cut.

I think it was about 12 inches when I first went short. It was when the movie Ghost came out and I wanted Demi Moore's haircut. My hair was down to the middle of my back at that time.
