I am one of those silly mothers who still likes to do Easter Baskets for her children, even though they are 21, 18 and 17. This year, I bought James one that is shaped like a basketball. He had asked for a new nurf basketball goal that goes over his bedroom door, so I picked up one of those, got him some candy and put those in plastic easter eggs shaped like basketballs. I went to the sporting goods store, and picked him up a new coach's whistle (he coaches elementary basketball and soccer), six new pairs of Nike socks and a Chicago Bulls baseball cap. In Kristen's I did everything dance related. Instead of getting her an Easter basket, I got her a new make-up caddy. In it I put Pink sparkly eggs, a new charm for her charm bracelet, some new scunchies for her hair, a t-shirt that says I love to dance, a new cd that she wanted and a pink Beanie Baby Pig (She collects them). Lauren is in the middle of softball, but is also a senior, so I kind of combined the two. The Dollar Store got all of their Class of 08 stuff in last week, so I loaded her up. Scrunchies, a bracelet, necklace and earrings that all say Sr. 08...a bumper sticker and air freshner for her car, and a cup for her morning hot chocolate. I bought her a blue t-shirt and had a softball embroidered on it with her name and number above and below it. I put it all on a tray that has softball's all over it. She had seen it at the dollar store a couple of weeks ago and made the comment that it would be really cool for her room to put her hair stuff on to get it off the top of her dresser. What age did you stop doing things for your children for Easter? Do you still enjoy getting things for easter?

I usually try to take my girls shopping for easter as well. They don't usually want dresses anymore, though year before last they decided to get cute skirt sets. Last year they both wanted capri outfits. We'll see what they end up with this year.

Rats! Oh you have more bravery than I do. I have trouble with any kind of rodent that resembles a rat! LOL A couple of years ago my brother asked my husband if my girls could have a guinnea pig. I told him sure! but I was moving out first.

I'm looking for ideas for this year. They're both in college now and not living with us, but I don't intend to not do something. The youngest ask if I was going to still do baskets, even though she wasn't going to get to come home for the weekend. I guess she's wanting me to ship it to her.

wow what a great mom you are! my daughters are 11 and almost 15 and we are a bit financially challenged at the moment but they got a lot of stuff (but not much candy) - we hide their stuff all though the living room - i went to an outlet store where there was a clairs and they usually have 10 items for $10 so thats what i did - got them a whole lot of stuff (sometimes it is even 15 for $10!!)

My daughter's love Claire's! We also have a new dollare shop here in the town that I moved to in December that carries alot of really cool stuff. More so than the Dollar Tree that I'm familiar with! They carry alot of close out items, so I was able to pick up some jewelry that originally came from Target! I can't wait to start putting baskets together this year.

My daughters are 22 and 18 and though it isn't Easter Baskets that I get them, I generally get them things that they need or can use like a care package type. I haven't really gone with any themes with either of them before but I think that's a great idea. I don't think our children are ever too old to do little things like that. I know have a 7 month old grand daughter that I can do that for as well.
