Hot Air Balloon - Have any of you experineced a flight?

ooh yeah! that is one thing i would want to experience, to ride on a hot air balloon. i might plan this one out net year in time for the hot air balloon festival. thanks for reminding me.

no not me, I am a little bit afraid of them, from what I understand you have very little control and if a strong wind sends you off someplace you don't know where you are going to land.

Hello ellie, that's cool. You know, I have not seen that in real or person. I have just watched some people on TV and it always envy me. I really want to try that as long as I will be given a chance. I am scared of height but trying Hot Air Balloon is something I want to try no matter what! LOL, I am sure your dad will be having fun!

I like to watch hot air balloons from the ground! I am really afraid of heights so I have no interest in going up in a balloon. My husband grew up in Albuquerque, NM where they hold the balloon fiesta every year. He has gone on a hot air balloon ride and insists that it is fun. We went to the Fiesta last October. It was really cool!If your father always wanted to go then it sounds like the perfect gift for him!

I don't know what I expected when I took a hot air balloon ride. I had wanted to do it for a long time -- so did a friend, so we went for the adventure. It's not real exciting Ellie. A ferris wheel is more thrilling -- but it was good to have the experience, fulfilling the dream! The guy running the balloon was cute, too. I think your dad will be pleased. It's something he's always wanted to do and he'll appreciate your thought.

I have never rode in a hot air balloon but i have seen them being flown in my area. I am afraid of heights so I don't know if I would go up in one or not if someone bought me a ticket for it. It looks like fun but it is also dangerous if the conditions aren't just right for it. I would be very appreciative but scared to go also.

It's not heights that I don't like...I have a fear of falling. So if I am in an airplane I am okay as I am closed in so I feel safe....it's looking out of observation towers, escalators, etc that make me physically sick....so if someone gave me a ride in a hot air balloon...I would probably pass. Doing that for your father is a very wonderful thing. Five months before my father got very sick and passed away we gave him a trip to florida....to see my daughter. Right after he got back is when he kind of gave up.....but he surely enjoyed the trip! I think that your brothers and you have a very good idea! It would be the chance of a lifetime for your father!

Sadly if My children did this for me i would think they were trying to get rid of me since they know i'm afraid of heights..LOL.. This is a wonderful gift since they are so pretty and hopefully he gets well to go up in it!
