Why do you add new friends?

What makes you decide to add a friend on Mylot? Is it their discussions, their interests, you think you have something in common with them? Do you add them so you have more discussions to view from your friends, and more things to respond to?
Or do you add them in order to promote your other websites and programs?
What do you have to see in a discussion to make you want to add a person to your friends?

Yes! lol It is their discussions and interests and that I think there is something there in common. Yes. I do like to have more discussions to respond to, however let me qualify that. I don't add just anyone so that I will have this. I look for those who I have some common interests with. I look for people who I tend to see in the same conversations as I alot and who have answers I have enjoyed reading or questions I enjoyed reading. Yes I have added folks so that we could exchange opportunities.
I've been really luck though. Most everyone I have added as friends have been wonderful additions to my life. I have become close with some and even joke with some. This may not happen with everyone who I add as a friend but when it does I feel quite blessed.

It is a little bit of everything!! I look to see how active they are and if they respond to a lot of discussions and also to see how many discussions they set and what sorts of discussions they are, to make sure their discussions are not just about money making sites!!
I love to have plenty of discussions to answer in a day so I like to add the friends that are busy bees, I do not add friends for promotion of any sites or anything because I do not have any to promote!

That's a great idea, that's what I'm starting to try to do is add friends for their discussions. At least that way I don't have to search too hard :D

If someone responds to one of my discussions with a well thought out and sensible response that I enjoy reading then I check out their profile and look at their own discussions. If they look like the sort of things that would appeal to me then I request them as a friend. If they accept then I turn the notify to ON so that their discussions appear in my in box. I like all sorts of discussions, not just ones on a few topics. SO it's interesting to have a range of friends with different viewpoints and ideas to write about.
If someone requests me as a friend, I normally accept them unless I think their discussions / responses are particularly bad, or if they are all about making money in which case I figure I'd just be letting myself in for a load of spam money making links. I think I've only every turned down a couple of friend requests.

I add them to have more of a variety of discussions to respond to and in return, I have the opportunity to earn a few more cents a day.. I can't answer all of the emails that I have gotten from all of the friends but answer as many as I can and I always have a great choice of discussions to respond to..
