I'm going to take a friend to visit her mom. My mom's been gone for 2 years, I asked my daughter not to make plans that included me. My friend isn't well and can't drive by herself. Her mom and dad are about one and a half hours away. We'll go for a mid-day dinner at their retirement home. What are you doing for Mothers' Day?

I'm going to be out of town in the early part of the day so I'm going to go to mom's in the later afternoon to take her to vespers and dinner.

We'll be eating in the dining room at the Manor, where mom lives, so its kind of like an all you can eat very upscale cafeteria type resturant. Me, I'll eat almost any meat - because I have to, but I also like almost all of them. However, it might be ham or chicken that I end up eating. I don't know, tho, they have all kinds of nice stuff out for the holidays. Maybe even more champange - only time I drink the stuff.

I think we're all just gonne chill at the house. My sis is coming over with her son, and me and my son already live with my mom. So we will all sit and talk, play with the kids and than are ordering out so that none of us has to cook.

I will be working, for the last several years my kids have been busy on mothers day, working or what ever. Early twenties, I am just not a priority. Anyway I figure if I work , it will be better then sitting around wondering if they will call or come by. Who kows maybe this year they will surprise me lol. Like you my mom has passed. So I just try to stay busy. I hope everyone has a wonderful Mothers Day as well.

I'm sure they are thinking about you. Have a wonderful day, even if it is just a usual one.

I ordered some flowers for my mom, and mailed her a card with pictures of her brand new great-granddaughter born last weekend (my new grand-daughter). Unfortunately I can't go to see my mom this weekend - she's about 200 miles away - because I'm babysitting for the new baby. However, the end of next week I'll drive to her house and pick her up and bring her back here so she can see and hold the baby. My mom has Alzheimers and is fairly confused most of the time. It's sad to know that she probably won't remember any of this after she gets back home, but I'll make sure she has lots of photos to jog her memory a bit.

I'm sure she will enjoy meeting her great-grand daughter even for the moment it's happening. What a wonderful Mothers' Day present for her. Enjoy the baby. Grandchildren are wonderful.
