Typing?

My keyboard is old, but I am a typist I don;t have to look at the keys, I learned the old fashioned way in school with the letters taped on a typewriter so that nobody could look at the letters. It is the only way to learn properly, as long as you type looking at the letters you are slower and run into the problems you are facing now.

hi Grandpa Bob I have a normal keyboard attached to my laptop as its easier to type with it and all the letters and signs are still clearly visible here. I type with all 10 fingers and so it would not bother me too much if the letters were not readable any more. If you want I send you my keyboard to put at Minnies place and you give me her worn out one. I will be able to manage that its American system which is a bit different from German.

Both my fiance and My laptop is only a few years old, and the keys are still very visible with no worn areas. The computer that we use but is his parents also has a fairly new keyboard. I am great typist, though, so would have no need to look at the keys unless the layout of the keyboard is a little different (as in proportion wise) or the keyboard is not set up as high or low as I am used to. Some people have a keyboard tray computer desk and some people do not... My fiance's parents do, but for our laptop I usually just lay it in my lap or on the ottoman while typing.

My keyboard is about 2 years old. Some of the letters are worn. The enter key is really worn. The O sticks. I would love to have a new keyboard. I really like this one though. It is comfortable.

i actually just replaced my old keyboard witha new one cause some of the keys were sticking really bad but i have to say i dont like this one the keys are very stiff and make too much noise

I don't get lost (unless I have my fingers on the wrong keys to start with!) because I learned to type the old fashioned way in high school on a manual typewriter - does that give you any idea of how many moons ago THAT was? LOL ...

My keyboard is fairly new so I don't have issues with he letters not being identifiable, even if I did need to see them. It sure does need a cleaning, though, so maybe I'll pop these puppies off and give it a good brushing.

**laughing** Oh Grandpa, I can just see you hunting and pecking on keys that you can't even read! hehe. Some of the letters and symbols are already rubbing off my keyboard also.. and mine is only a little over a year old. I guess I use it alot. I type about 65 words per minute on a slow day.. and no, I don't have to look at the keys.. 3 years of office practice taught me well.

LOL I have had a couple of keyboards wear out on me AGB - it only happens to special people like your daughter and I! lol Some people do write the letters back on the keys and seal with clear nail varnish but I think new ones can be very cheap and are a much better idea! Hugs xxx

No, what you need is some little ones around to spill something on your keyboard, making you replace it before the letters wear off...
This is my third keyboard in as many years..My son is not allowed to have drinks around the keyboard and I have a table behind the computer chair for drinks, but at 6, he is still forgetful and just today I had to remind him to remove his water..
