Does anyone have or know where I might find a recipe for homemade prewash - similar to Spray and Wash?

We just use liquid laundry detergent and a tooth brush. Put a little on and let it soak for a bit just like spray and wash. It has worked for us. We use powdered detergent and try to keep a small ammount of liquid detergent on hand for things like this. Occasionaly I have used liquid hand wash dish soap and it works okay too.

I was thinking about diluting some dish soup and trying that - it's supposed to contain degreaser. I have used powdered dishwasher detergent on really dirty work clothes and with bleach for white socks.

I usually just mix one part water and one part laundry soap and put it in a spray bottle. I do the same thing for white clothing but use one third bleach, one third laundry detergent and one third water.

Thanks - that sounds easy enough. The commercial stuff is so expensive if you need to use much of it - which we do!

For oily stains dishwashing liquid that has degreasing agents in it is the best pre-treater. Baking soda, and vinegar in equal parts also makes a good cleaner. Make sure to color check first.
