Some people said that teachers are receiving high salary than other ordinary employees. Is anybody knows about it? I have a friend who plan to shift into teaching because of what she heard that teachers get high pay. As I understand, teachers work is really hard and they must deserve a high pay. Some people look down this profession. They just don't realize that without the teachers, there will be no professionals. And with this, teachers deserve to be paid right. Do you have any idea about this?

yup, those teachers who are working in government schools, get paid really high but the new teachers who are being appointed temporarily are being paid minimal salaries, also to get a job as a teacher in good paying institution is very difficult.

That is what I think too. If the teacher is working for many years in the government, like their service is quite long enough, they will also receive pay that compensates to their service. That's good. Thanks for sharing.

Dear friend, In our place it is seen that teachers of well reputed school are paid well. The salary they get are depending upon the reputation and the financial capacity of the institution or education institution where the teachers teach.

that is correct!! when the teachers are in the private institutions, their salaries depend upon the reputation of the school and the number of students they have. if they have lots of students, they will have a good pay. But the Public school teachers are paid by the government, therefore they are stable.

here in ontario (canada) it depends on how long these teachers have been teachers. i know both new teachers and older teachers, the new teachers really dont make a whole lot, but after teaching for 30 years, our other friends makes quite a bit.

What?? 30 years? that's awful.. a teacher would wait that long to have a good salary? Maybe I have to shift to business. Thanks for replying.

Hi Bebs, As a rule, teaching is not a high paying profession, but I'm sure it depends on where you live as well. I believe that teachers salaries should be much higher than it is. They are performing a very important service and should be well paid and well respected. Blessings.

On average teachers do not earn high salaries. Those teaching in more wealthy school districts earn more than those teaching in the poorer ones but even the higher paid teachers don't make a killing. College professors who have tenure fair better but it's hard to gain tenure in most college institutions.

Oh!! really? what about in the public schools? I think salaries in the public schools is centralize. With this, even if you will be assigned in the poorer districts you will receive same salary with those who are in the wealthier area? Well, maybe if you are working in a private school.. salaries differ in poorer and wealthier districts, right? Well, just curious about it.
