What's up on The Lot?

I have noticed that butas far as i know those friends who respond do not rate them negative. my idea is why should i when i can not see anything to rate negatively. during my stay here for the past 1 year and a half, i clicked that negative only once! that was the time when they copy and paste jokes on discussions that have different topic!

Skinny, I have studiously avoided any discussion that requests or requires that I rate anybody negatively, or positively for that matter. I think that the whole thing is daft. I have never rated anybody ever and have no intention of starting now. I like to chat with folk whatever there rating. I don't like the trolls anymore than the next person, but rating my discussion up or down will make no difference to me at all. Actually, if people don't like what I have written, there is no need to respond. If they do and request that they rate me, they're out of luck.

yeah, i have seen that one, too, that one asked to be rated negative. but since, i didn't find anything offensive, i didn't rate it.

but why would want to do that? i mean, why would want to get down the rank, although i am not really sure how it works or affects us or our earnings.

i don't really care, i just post. but why do people want to do that?

I know of a few who are on a campaign to "lose their stars" and being the helpful person I am, I rate them "neg" when I see them, but I really have to make myself do it. As a whole, I really don't feel comfortable doing it unless a comment or discussion actually deserves (in my opinion) to be rated negatively.

I rate a few people negatively because they ask. Unless a poster is being downright rude and obnoxious, I don't normally rate anyone negatively. Also, the people who say "I don't know" or "I have no opinion" to a discussion just to get that money from the post get negatively rated also.

I too have seen discussions where users are asking to be -ed. I can't bring myself to do it. I figure there are enough people on that wagon already that their star is going to go down and down and down without any help from me. Might take a little bit longer but it will still happen.

I only - someone when they really get under my skin or out right attack someone I am close to on here. They are few and far between but they do happen.

Like you it would take alot for me to rate negatively I think I have only rated negatively once or twice since I have joined mylot and that been along time. I don't rate bad just because a friend wants me to. It is our choice to rate how we want it is not a follow the leader game when it comes to ratings. If a discussions is good I will almost always rate it positively(If I remember to at the time.) If it is not worth a positive rating I usually just leave it unrated.

It's a weird, weird feeling negging a friend skinny. But I look at it this way; they want the trolls to know that they are not being bothered by them, so neg their stars and take a target away from the trolls. I have to respect that. Poor zukepr - I try so hard to always hit the - for her, but my little finger goes automatically to the +, so I don't know if I'm really helping her achieve her goal or not! LOL
The point is - if a friend asks for help, even if I don't agree with the reasoning, but it isn't going to cause any harm to help, then I will help. If there was going to be harm caused, I would back away and try to support my friend in a more positive way. Hitting the neg for zukepr and Mooch is doing no harm, so I'm trying my best to support them both.

When I read the start of a discussion, even if it is a friend and they ask to be negged, I avoid the discussion. Sorry, I just can't see playing that game. If the discussion rates a + it's either going to get a + or get avoided. I'm here to engage in lively, informative discussions, and I don't find this stuff about the trolls interesting.

Of course I might change my mind if I become a target.

WEll being that I am one that was originally against the idea of neg rating, but I since saw how sincere that these people are, and now that I have been targeted and stalked myself, I have to say that I too want to be rid of my star, simply because if they have no reason to attack me they will leave me alone.

I was originally not rating my friends that wanted to be negged, but I since have embraced the cause whole heartedly and now seek out my friends discussions who want me to be negged and it has taken me to many interesting new discussions as well.

Please rate a neg, if you can't bring yourself to rate a neg, please don't rate at all.
