What do you think should be required to be a top discussion? I have seen a variety of topics; however, know a lot of people that have posted excellent topics and never been in the top discussion area.
It certainly isn't having a large number of responses, as many times I see posts with one and two posts at night. It certainly isn't posts that are spelled correctly, as every week I see words spelled wrong in the subject.
I'm looking forward to reading many responses, as I have never had one in the top discussion. I really felt my healthy eating post with over 50 replies would have been there, but no spotlight for it. I think the responses I received for that topic would really help people. Sorry can't post a link, as don't want to be deleted. If you would like to see it, then private message me for the link.
Here is a glass of juice to enjoy while your thinking of a reply.

Well I have had discussions in the top and they vary in subject. Well if you check the hot topics they do tend to change often. Some mebers have even reported that they see one set and at the same time on a different computer there husband sees a different list. So yours may make it but you just dont know it. I dont even check if mine make it anymore.

I didn't know that can happen. I wish the first discussion page was our friend list not top discussion. Thank you for the reply.

What do I think makes a top discussion? Whatever tickles their fancy on that particular day. I think they go for a wide variety of topics. I don't think I've had a top discussion but don't check there all the time.
The same with the myLot Digest. Some of the discussions there don't have a ton of responses.

Thanks for the reply. I sent you the link 54 replies, so you can see why I was surprised. It was a long time ago and still stunned with so many people coming forward. I lost 15 pounds with the boards help. The bad part put some of them back on, so need to work harder.

I honestly think we have all been in the top discussions, even if we didn't know it. I've gone there before and seen my discussions, and then five minutes later it is a whole new page of discussions. I don't check top or hot discussions anymore, but it seems like anyone and all end up on it, we just don't know it because they constantly change.

Thanks for the reply. I think that is probably the answer. I'm not going to look at them anymore

Hello there, thanks for a glass of juice. LOL I have never made to the top discussion either and have no idea how it works. I just take it easy and don’t bother that much. Obviously, this is not the positive view to deal with the issue. But what can I do? Anyway, I don’t like to be in the spotlight. LOL

Your welcome I'm lowering my stress and trying to help other people also. Many times I'm not looking to be in the spotlight either, but my weight loss discussion was a different story. My younger brother had a heart attack and I'm working at changing my life.

I have no idea what makes a top discussion, I've seen some things in that catagory that leave me puzzled--like is such and such a site a good place to make money. That doesn't strike me as something that everyone would be interested in, as most internet money making things are scams.
It's a mystery to me. Don't think I've ever had a discussion listed there, either.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not going to look at them anymore, as saw S-- there yesterday. I think if that wasn't up there yesterday, then I probably would have posted a different topic.

Fishy..I was thinking of this too and talking to another special friend here yesterday about it when she posted about one of her discussions making it to best in the digest.
I've never made it there either and have had more comments then some that are listed..so i'm really confused how they pick whats the top discussions? Could it be the ones that post discussions alot? Or Could it be a time of day?
Really hope someone knows the answers so i can have answers and not think I'm being overlooked..well just a bit curious..LOL

I think Minnie has the answer. We just aren't seeing all the top discussions. I still have a problem with bad spelling making it to best discussion. Thanks for the reply.

I have no idea what determines the "top discussions". I use to think it was the ones with most replies but I have seen some up there that didn't have any replies yet. I can't figure it. I've only seen one of mine on "tope discussions" the whole time I've been here.

I have seen some with zero replies also. I'm still think you should have some replies to be placed in the top discussions. Its not a problem just wanted to know other peoples thought on the matter. Thanks for the reply.

I don't know how they figure out what the "top discussions" are. I don't think I've ever had one fall into that category :(
I don't start any now though.
I would think it would have to have a lot of responses- otherwise how would it be top?
I would think that it would have to be a newer discussion- posted that day.
Spelling is important- but I'm sure it has nothing to do with that.
Maybe mylot picks by the "topic"? If it's a hot topic---
Or maybe they just randomly pick?

Hmmm I thought it had to do with how many replies a discussion got. I could be wrong. Im sorry you havent had any there. Maybe your day will come to:) Good luck. Im sure your discussion was an interesting one.

It can't be number of posts, as I have seen zero. I don't know how a post can be top again without a reply. This just bo one of the Mylot mysteries. Thanks for the reply.

I am not sure what should be required to be a top
discussion unless its to be interesting to the
most number of mylotters here and also be nicely
put together and easy to understand perhaps.

I agree with your post. Thank you for posting. Its certainly quite important to be able to understand the post, as late night there are some that have me wondering what the post really is saying.

I really don't give much thought to top discussions especially trying to come up with one. I don't answer many of them either, I usually stick to my friends and interest. I may browse through them and even occasionally respond, but not often.

Thanks for the reply. I have a new bookmark right to my friends discussions. This way the page should load faster.
