What's the most famous building in your country? |
|
There are many famous and ancient buildings in my country. And I think the most famous one is the Great Wall. It's a wonder which built by human beings. Even it can be seen from outspace.

Buckingham Palace naturally is one of the most famous, in London, The Tower of London, St.Paul's Cathedral, Big Ben and the houses of parliament! Great tourist attractions that has millions of visitors each year from all around the year. I guess I am lucky in that I only live about 30km from the city centre.

2. drsparkle314 (178) | 2 years ago | The current most famous building in my country which happens to be the Philippines is The SM Mall of Asia which is the the largest shopping mall in the Philippines and is the third largest shopping mall in the world in terms of Gross Leasable Area according to the Forbes Magazine, after the South Dounggan Mall (China) and Golden Resources Mall (China). It was opened on May 21, 2006 but it was supposed to be opened earlier than that in fact it should have been opened after or during Christmas time back in 2005 if I'm not mistaken. Unfortunately, there was an incident that postponed its opening.

5. Transdisc (18489) | 2 years ago | How about Graceland? I think more people visit Graceland than visit the White House, even though the White House may be more recognizable on the world stage.

|
youless (15184) | 2 years ago | To me, White House is much more famous than Graceland. I am sorry I don't know where Graceland is.

Transdisc (18489) | 2 years ago | Graceland is in Tennessee. It's Elvis' home and where he was buried. Elvis Presley, the King.

6. murtagh92 (155) | 2 years ago | ya, i visited the great wall the previous summer, and even though i was sick during my trip, i still climbed much of it! it was great!! amazing view when u reach one of the higher points. hhhmmm....well, i would definitely say that our most famous place would probably be the Grand Canyon...but one specific building... well, the Twin Towers were both knocked down, but thats becoming known in a bad way, lol....maybe the Sears Tower...

|
murtagh92 (155) | 2 years ago | ya, i really enjoyed the grand canyon... however, i got there too late, and was unable to finish the whole way down and back up, so i had to settle for halfway=[
| |
|
|
Modestah (7932) | 2 years ago | oh yes! for a natural wonder rather than a man made building - the grand canyon is really known - as is niagara falls... or the grand tetons!
such a big country with so many wondrous things.

7. desertdarlene (5842) | 2 years ago | I would say that the most famous building in the United States would be the Empire State Building. It is no longer the tallest building in this country, but it's name is synonymous with the United States and New York. Second to that would be the Statue of Liberty. I would bet that most people who live outside the United States would know what those two buildings were if you were to mention them.

|
youless (15184) | 2 years ago | It seems different Americans have different opinions in this aspect. Empire State Building was ever a milestone for the human being's building.

8. dfollin (2067) | 2 years ago | I would say in the United States it would probably have to be The Statue of Liberty. When the legal immigrants came years ago from other countries to Ellis Island. The first thing that they saw on american soil was the Statue of Liberty. And to this day that statue represents freedom to many people.
| |
| |
|
|
youless (15184) | 2 years ago | I agree with you. That's a very famous building and it can represent your country very well. It stands for the freedom.

9. Modestah (7932) | 2 years ago | the great wall is famous everywhere, isn't it?
I guess the most famous building for us would be the White House or the Empire State building... of course after the 911 incident I suppose the twin towers (trade center) are most famous, but they are not longer there so I can not mention them.
The most famous artifact would probably be the declaration of independance or the liberty bell.
The most famous statuary is likely the statue of liberty

10. aseretdd (6851) | 2 years ago | My country doesn't have sky scrappers... so i cannot think of any famous ancient or modern building... but i don't think that is something to really worry about... since we are famous for other things... like having friendly people... and and most of my countrymen are very good in English...
I dream of going to China to see the Great Wall... i hope someday that dream will turn into a reality...
