I bought some Sweet Baby Ray's hot and spicy barbeque sauce this afternoon - and a few hours ago put 3 pork tenderloins in the slow cooker - I did nothing else to it other than drench it in the SBR's.... in the morning I will have tender shredded pork. But, it smells so good now I want to sample it... but it is not cooked through yet so it is safe for now from my sampling impulses. Do you have a difficult time resisting samplings?

I love to sample my cooking as I go along. I'm a vegetarian, so most things I make ARE safe to sample, which probably just encourages my habit. I don't blame you a bit for wanted to sample something with Sweet Baby Ray's in it. That's one of my favorite sauces.

with all the wonderful natural fertilizers in organic gardening of vegetables I am concerned about thorough washing of my veggies in the same way I am concerned about the thorough cooking of my meats. what dishes do you use the sauce on?

Oh, I agree that the veggies should be washed. It's just that I wash them BEFORE I start cooking, so that makes sampling as I'm cooking a pretty safe thing. With meat, I wouldn't want to sample it until the meat was cooked thoroughly enough. I use the sauce on veggie burgers, seitan cutlets, to make baked beans and sometimes on roasted potatoes.

I love homemade soup and dumplings....but when you make the dumplings you are not supposed to even peek at them....it's such a temptations when they are close to sneak a little bit to drowned in butter and get the first taste....but I do resist as they don't turn out if you take off the lid. I prefer to have a whole pot full of good ones then to ruin the whole batch! LOL

I have never tried SBR sauce before Modestah - I don't think we have it here but i have to say it sounds delicious! I would wait to have a taste as Pork is one of those things that you just cannot take a chance on before it is properly cooked! I do hope it is as delicious as you hope though when it is cooked! i so wish I could have a taste too! xxx

Yes, I have a hard time resisting trying things as I cook, but the reason I wanted to add to this discussion is because I absolutely love Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce. I think its the best. I've tried plenty, but none compare.

I love Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce. I have not tried the hot and spicy one yet. I normally go for the Original. It is all I will buy anymore. Your food sounds yummy! Yes, I have trouble keeping myself out of things until they are all the way done sometimes. Especially when they smell amazing.

LMAO oh yes Modestah, often if I cannot sleep I will cook the next days dinner in the wee hours of the morning. If it is a pot roast of a soup or stew I always have to have a bowl before I do go to bed, or for breakfast... LMAO

Any time I cook I sample it and when the meal is ready I am not hungry. Bad habit I guess

I'm horrible about sampling anything I am cooking. Sometimes, I've sampled so much, by the time I get to dinner, all I want is a salad, I've already had my portion of the main course while I'm cooking. I need to take control of it, but it's so hard... :)
