Just noticed-I haven't filled my car this Month!

I usually go visit my family about every 2 weeks..I got stuck with just the 1 day off this week,(tomorrow) so I think I'll have to call off the "No Fuel in May" attempt...I did my weekly shopping Run on Monday evening,and was pleasantly surprised that I made it back without the low fuel light coming on.. that was a 20 mile round trip,but at least 8 miles of that counts as a commute to work! My sister lives closest to Me,1/2 hour away,so I'll have to give in and fill up to go see Her...Otherwise,I'd have nailed this!

It's a long shot,but it just might pay off...
I had to take the car to work yesterday,but the low fuel light stayed off until I got home! So today I can use the bike again!

Although a B class road,for this area (mostly rural) it's a main road running thru my village-the village is located around a T Junction,one branch to the local town 3 miles away,and the other to the County town 10 miles away. Public transport-forget it-there's something like 2 buses a day.My Sister lives 30 minutes away by car-I checked the timetable-getting the first bus out at 8am,I could make a 4 hour trip to visit Her, spend maybe an hour over lunchtime,then catch the last connection to make another 4 hour trip for the evening bus back...There are some of the big chain supermarkets who offer home delivery or online shopping-none of them will deliver as far out as my place,10 miles away!,so I make 1 trip a week with the car into town to stock up,and anything I forget I can maybe get in the Local town with the bike,which has a Barber,banks,post office,Library,etc..Another advantage of the bike..I've lost a few pounds!

I enjoy the boost the e-bike gives to my range over a conventional bike,but I wouldn't like to live in an especially hilly area,even with one..there's a switchback of a scenic back road near where I live, leading to a nearby small town-I checked it out last summer when I first got the bike,and made it to the top ahead of a couple on mountain bikes who had a couple of hundred yards head start! My commute is along a B class road (2 lane) with light inclines in places-I could probably get there on motor alone,but it's less efficient and uses the battery more,so I take some exercise and pedal uphill,and cruise on motor on the level! Range for the machine is given as about 20 miles per charge-I'm averaging about 13 miles before the battery charge indicator starts to drop...I saw some ebikes on Walmart's website.I wonder what they're like?

All good things must come to an end..I only got one day off this week (Yesterday) and went to the Cinema last night (20 mile round trip-) the low fuel light blinked on part way to the Cinema,but had reset itself by the time I came out,and I made it home without it coming on again until I pulled up at the house...I need to bring the car to work this evening,so must put some in on the way!

I did it! An entire calendar month without filling the Car! I had to go in to work for a meeting today at 1pm,but I was to start work at 2,so I was set for all day with the bike..then the numbers of the group we were expecting for Lunch in the Restaurant I work in dropped drastically,so after the meeting I was told "Come back at 6.." took the scenic route home,went down by the nearby lakeshore for a spin,then had a go tidying the back yard when I got back to the house..Fed,Showered,biked back in JUST in front of what's called a "Thunderplump" around here-a sudden torrential thunder shower! I never felt a drop on my way in,yet I walked into the restaurant after changing out of the T-Shirt I wore into my uniform,to see rain pelting the windows..thankfully,that cleared the air,and my trip home was dry and uneventful!
