There aren't a lot of people with the exact musical tastes of another human being. Some people don't even want to try other genres of music. The like what they like, and that is it. But if you could get people to listen to just three songs of your choice, which three songs would those be? And you can tell me why, or you can just list the three songs. And do you know a lot of people with the same musical tastes as yourself? I don't know that I can think of three I would want everyone to listen to, but hopefully you can.

Wow AmbiePam, there are sooo many songs to choose from and it's very hard to determine which...but, here goes:
1.) Nothing Else Matters...Metallica - even though a heavy metal band, this song is beautiful and shows you that it's not just head banging music that they can perform.
2.) Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me...not sung by Elton John but by George Michaels AND Elton John. George Michaels voice is unbelievable in this song and gives me goose bumps, haha.
3.) Time After Time...here we go again, not by Cindy Lauper but by Sugar Ray (Mark McGrath)...I just love this version.
I could go on and on but those are my silly choices. My taste in music is from A to Z...I like it all. Take care hon.

Hi Amber! Here are three songs I would love for people to listen to:
1. I Can Only Imagine
2. I Pledge Allegience to the Lamb
3. It is Well With My Soul
I love all three of these songs, the message in them is terrific!! Hugs!!

Hi Spookybutt,
Strange to say, I'm not inclined to propose songs for other people to listen to.
I guess serving up music for other people to hear might imply that there's some message for them - but I'm not too concerned to persuade other people to my tastes.
I'm happy to say what songs and music I like, and to know what other people like, but getting others to listen to my choices doesn't inspire me.
If I had the chance to specify some music to be played on the radio, for example, I'd do it for my own listening pleasure - if anyone else appreciated my choices, that would only be incidental to my own entertainment.
And if I was in the business of playing music for an audience, I'd be investigating what they wanted to hear, rather than proposing that they listen to my own preferences.
Music is a very personal thing - our preferences disclose something of our personalities and attitudes, and I think most people are happy to pick and choose what suits them rather than have anyone else nominate material for them to select from.
There are some types of music that I definitely would never suggest to anyone anyway, because I detest them so very much. Rap Cr@p for example, which belongs in a broom closet in some disused hallway in Hell.
But I'm happy with the notion that other people already know what they like, and am a little uncomfortable at the idea of suggesting music for other people to try.

Ok, I'm not overly keen of the music of today, so my picks are going to leave the younger Mylotters scratching their heads.
1. Carole King's Beautiful from her Tapestry album.
This song has gotten me through many problems over the last few years, and I really think that it rings true.
2. The Pretenders Hymn To Her. Not sure what album, but it is a tribute to all mums! My mums is a big fan of theirs, so I think that's fitting.
3. John Farnham's You're The Voice. I believe that we all have to do our bit to keep our world safe and that we must speak out when we feel something isn't right. This song confirms it.
Please don't ask for links. I'm too tired for that right now! lol.

That's a really good question. If I had to pick songs that people should listen to, I'd pick something that sounds interesting with a general point of view. I'd pick songs by Mogwai because of the randomness of their material. I know a lot of songs by Hans Zimmer, Ennio Morricone and other composers that people would like.

I'd like to say it was some great hymn with all the answers to life, I'd like someone to listen to.. but closest to that (for me) is a tune (not a hymn) called "Lily was Here" by saxophonist Candy Dulfer. There's no words. it's mostly a saxophone, but to me it reflects the perfect sentiment of life.. It just says it all! (Even with no words.) Other than that.. watching John Mayer's face while he plays is something to see! It could be called a little comical.. definitely interesting.. For a third choice.. if I could just think of a good one.. I know! A little known(?) song by Toby Keith "If I was Jesus".. I love that song.. a portrayal of Jesus I like better than many others..

The three songs I would pick are ones that never got much airplay, but are some of my faves.
The first is a song written by Ronnie Lane, the bass player from the Small Faces called Song of a Baker. I love the bass part, and it's one of the heaviest songs I've ever heard.
The second would be a Moby Grape tune, written by Skip Spence, one of the guitar players of the band. The song titled "Omaha", it's a happy, energetic tune that always makes me feel good, and I love Skippy's work on guitar.
The third is "Do What You Like", from Blind Faith. The combination of Eric Clapton on guitar, Steve Winwood on vocals, and Ginger Baker on drums is magical. The song also features a great drum solo.
