Have you ever tried French-toasting a sandwhich?

I tried this out of the blue the other day, because I wanted something more exciting than a plain old turkey & cheese sandwhich. I beat some eggs, a pinch of salt & pepper and milk together, dipped the whole assembled sandwich in the mixture and threw it on a hot, buttered griddle pan. They turned out DELICIOUS! The outside was cripsy and the cheese was melty, but the bread was nice and fluffy and a little richer from the egg.

Can't say that I have. It does sound similar to the MonteCristoes that we used to eat. I also have to watch my cholesterol intake, but it sure sounds good to me!

That does sound good. I might have to try that sometime. I had turkey and cheese last night, but it was on a quesadilla with brie and apricot jam. It was yummy!

Sounds close to a Monte Cristo sandwich and those are awesome. Now I am going to have to make me one tomorrow. I make Monte Cristo sanwiches with ham and swiss cheese. I'll bet that turkey and cheese would be good, too.

That does sound pretty tasty! I've never had a Monte Cristo sandwich, but I think it's very similar--they just dip Monte Cristo sandwiches in jam or something as you eat them. Strawberry jam, I think.

Sounds different, I make a Spam sandwich this way and dip it in syrup but I haven't tried any other kind.

You are making me hungry now! I haven't had this for years but when I was a child and used to go on camping trips with the school they used to make it this way but in England we used to call it eggy bread. Whatever one chooses to call it though I absolutely agree with you that it is DELICIOUS. Ellie :D
