Those of you that take meds, do you read the label?

I was doing my morning routine taking my meds and I rarely read the warnings on the labels and I thought, maybe I should have read them before I started taking them. One says to take with a full glass or water and then another says not to lay down for 30 mins. after taking this medicine. So, I was wondering how many of you actually read the side of the medicine bottle?

I read the label before ever taking them. I have heard of some horror stories about meds.

I not only read the labels, but I do an "interaction" search to see if any will have any bad interaction with my other medications. I've had some bad reactions after beginning a new medication. Once I even ended up in the hospital because I was put on blood pressure medication, then about a year later was put on another blood pressure medication, by the same doctor, without taking me off the first one. My blood pressure crashed so badly that I was afraid I was going to die! Ever since then, I always search for any negative interactions along with reading the labels.

I believe the warnings are there for a reason. I always read them for my meds. I also read food cans, etc. I guess I'm just a label reader. I'd rather be safe instead of sorry in the long run.

Though I don't read the entire label, I do read direction, side effects and contraindications.

I don't normally take medication but my husband is on several different ones for a couple of different conditions so he takes medication a few times each day. I always read the instructions, warnings and side effects when he's put on a new one so that I know how to give him his medication correctly. I don't tell him what the possible side effects are because he has anxiety but I watch for any signs that he's having a problem.
