Are you a apend thrift?
Do you spend up a lot of money after you get salary? and later repent?
Do you always think that you wont spend that much from next month, but you still do the same?
I am like that.
.
I spend up too much just after receivng salary.

well i used to be just like you. i'll spend quite a bit right after getting my salary. it's got to do with me feeling 'rich' after getting all that money in my bank account. now what i do is i'll straight away remove my savings from my bank account when i get my salary. the remaining sum will not be much so i am less tempted to spend. the regret after all that spending is just too great to bear. i'd rather spend less than to be regretful the rest of the month. cheers ;p

That always happen to me before. After the salary was given, I would always go to the mall the next day. And given that I am an impulsive buyer, I really just spend and spend. Now, I changed and promised to never do that again especially that the prices of the commodities has risen.

i'm just like you. i spend too much after receiving my salary. its like i always get excited when i receive a lot of money. probably because before receiving my salary, i am on a strict thrift spending since money is running out and when payday arrives, i would feel like celebrating because the days of thrift spending is over.
and i usually regret it when the days of thrift spending starts again. ^__^;; and lately, these past few weeks, that's been my routine, spending a lot of money watching movies, drinking, having fun, just to forget the one that's making me sad. ^.^
but still, in the back of my mind i still tell myself to save money and i try my best to save money and try to cut expenses on things that aren't that important.
however, i'm indulging myself these days on a spending galore because i need to forget some things.

Now every paise spent by me will have a definite meaning, and that means i must not be abruptly catageroised under the miser group. Surely, i have learnt from my young age the importance of money, and how it must be spent. Because i know what kind of hardships that my parents have faced, in bringing me up. This has given me a good discipline, and hence i am not a spend thrift, on the day i receive the salary packet.
Take care friend.

I guess I can say that I am a spend thrift and I just live within my means. I don't change my lifestyle abruptly since I received my first pay until now that I guess pays enough for my and family's needs. Before I even receive my salary, some amount are already deducted for my coop contribution in the company and I make it 20% of my salary which I make it as my savings. And when I receive my salary, I pay all my bills first - utility and credit card bills. Then I set aside for some allowance for the month. The remaining balance, I just invest it in the stock market, although PSE is down for a couple of months now.

Well when my hubby gets paid, all our bills for that fortnightly period gets paid off first and then we budget the rest on food and other necessities. Some pays are better than others though.

I tend to get carried away when i receive my salary at the end of the month. When its the last week of the month, I would tend to delay my expenses till i get the salary. I may plan for buying new shirts or may be a trip to a new location or may be giving away a party for the end of the month so that I have enough money to spend at.
I would always think of saving more and more money but as i get my salary, i tend to flow.
I would have dinner in expensive restaurants and plan out for some fabulous shopping.
I still have to buy a bag and Squash racket for myself but this months salary would be going away for buying a bike. So i think i will have to wait till i get this month's salary at the end of this month..

Well, in my case... i spend most of my salary on groceries, paying the bills, and rent... the remaining... which is not a lot... i use for my everyday expenses when going to work... and this includes what i spend when i watch a movie... which is only twice a month...i don't get enough actually... so nothing is put into savings...

I am not. I am the type of person who love to calculate first how much I should spend and how much I should save in case something emergency happened. Sometimes yes its full of temptation when I went to mall and wanted to bought tons of things specially in sale.
But now I can manage to only bought what I need and not what I want.
Its a successfully trick. (MOst of the time

That's not exactly what I am thinking about my salary. I'm thinking how to spend my salary as my pay off for my credit bill. It's been a burden to me a couple months ago, after spending a spledid break last April for 3 days which I have used my credit almost maxing it out. Now I'm in pain to pay it all off and hoping not to get larger amount of interest.

I never spend alot of money. I do not have alot to spend anyway. I have alot of bills to pay and we never have the money to just go out and spend. The price of everything is so expensive anyway. I have a strict budget that I have to go by every month to make sure the bills are paid and that we eat. Every now and then we get something extra though.

Hello subha,
When I was single, I used to be like that, after paying bills and other obligations, I will be buying what I want not thinking of saving anything..LOL, Now, I am not yet working since I got married and I will really change my habit towards it, at least I have tried to become extravagant before..LOL!

Some of us are on disability and a fixed income so that means that we only get paid once a month. Usually when we pay the bills we don't have that much left to keep us going for the rest of the month. Idont call that living I call that just surviving. We always try to spend as less as we can, but there always seems to be something come up that takes the extra we try to save. Then there is that special something that we want to buy for ourselves like a new blouse or pair of shorts or pants, or tht pretty picture and you think why not and then in the middle or end of the month you regret buying it and out of money. I spend too much on groceries, we only get to buy once a month and we run out of the main things like bread and eggs so I buy extra. That takes away from the money I have for the month, but if I save it something else is going to take it so I guess you just can't win. It is ashame that we have to feel bad for just wanting to buy one thing extra for us every month.

you are 'lucky' if you can really do that...
i do not have that 'luxury'...
everything i earned is already allocated for something.. for my children's lunch money at school, their extra classes, their school bus, for my mom, to pay my car loan....
so.. the minute i withdraw money from the ATM - i start putting them away for whatever purpose...
and pay whatever should be paid soonest possible..
