Crime in Your Area |
|
What is the last crime that has been committed in your area? Hopefully it is a safe enough place where you don't even know! Last week a woman was stabbed in the apartment building next to mine. It was in broad daylight, but it was by the father of one of her children. I live in low income housing by myself, and most of the people who live here are elderly, on disability, or single parents. I guess most stabbings and shootings are actually done by people the victims know, right? I think I heard that on TV. The main problem in my complex is drugs. I think most apartment complexes have somewhat of a problem, just because there are so many people in once place, drugs are bound to be an issue. The management here has really tried hard to make it a safer place. Two weeks ago there was a drug raid two floors above me. Everyone was coming out trying to see what was going on. I was more inclined to go INside when I heard people yelling, but hey, maybe that is just me.

It's one of those places where you can be in one area that is totally scaryville, and then you drive a mile or two and there are million dollar homes. I live in an apartment complex at the edge of town...borders the next town. It's nice and pretty safe, but I have heard recently of car break ins here. I don't know what the last crime was. It's probably happening as I type this. The last major crime was a college student being murdered in her neighborhood.

4. Allie_xoxo (223) | 6 months ago | About a week and a half ago I was mylotting late into the night. When I got hungry I walked down to the convienience store near my house to get a sandwich or something. I noticed a police car parked in the lamplight outside and thought nothing of it, probably just a hungry cop on the late shift. This hungry young cop however, stopped me at the door firmly. "I just want you to know this place has been robbed."

5. ycpgoldberg (694) | 6 months ago | My area is full of crime activity too, but not knowing by many. Averagely 5 stealing case and 5 robbing case each day in my city. But the last big crime case should be around 1-2 month ago, robbing case with gun in gold shop. Beside, there are also case like someone make 5 gun shots at the glass of one shop, without hurting anyone, just to warning the owner of that shop. It make me feel that gun is easy to buy here, even it's illegal.

6. mentalward (2141) | 6 months ago | I used to live in Baltimore City, Maryland. It has an extremely high crime rate. If I still lived there, I could not tell you what the last crime to be committed because there were so many of them every day. I personally witnessed a kidnapping, what was apparently a man who had just dumped a dead body into a wooded area (I was driving by and saw this man looking very suspicious, then jumped into his car and sped off and a woman's body was found right there the next morning), a police shootout, a drug raid next door to me and a few men beating their wives. I lived next door (in another house from the other one with the drug raid) where a woman stabbed her husband. It was a horrible place to live. I can sympathize with you living where you are. I understand completely how it feels. I always wanted to be somewhere else, too. I now live in a very safe area. It is rural with farm houses all around. These people are hard-working and wouldn't even have the time to THINK about committing a crime. I'm so glad to be out of that city! Please take care of yourself and stay as safe as you can. I wish you the best.

8. Yestheypayme2dothis (2456) | 6 months ago | I think you would be better off living with your parents and paying them rent. The last crime I remember was the doctor who has a practice in a medical building behind our apt complex..his wife was killed by one of his patients.

AmbiePam (11149) | 6 months ago | I can't pay them rent. SSI would count me living with them as income, and they would dock me money. So not only would I not have my own place, but I'd get my 637 docked several hundred dollars. It's a bit screwy. I do have a lot of nice people in my immediate area of the complex. We check up on each other.

AmbiePam (11149) | 6 months ago | Oh and I forgot to mention how much better I felt when I moved out! My migraines although still bad, went down in number. I was much less stressed. Also my dad doesn't want a dog in the house, and I'm not giving up Sherlock. Besides I'm 27 and the only thing I have left is my quasi independence, lol.
