Do you CVS? Free Money at CVS drug store - help me figure it out! |
| |
| CVS drug store has this program where you buy stuff and get rebates nad the stuff is free or nearly free. You get ECB's on receipts or soemthing. I tried it while back and the "free money" receipt things, expired in 6 days so I wasn't able to use them ...forget the exact issue but it was confusing enough that I didn't go back. I do Walgreens EasySaver Catalog - do about $25 every month - that is easy, but this CVS seems rather complicated.... Anyone have a handle on it? you know the CVS 101? I found a site that talks about it, but htere is no place to ask questions, and although I could probably figure on my own how to work my end of it, I can't figure how the ECB's work....any experience CVS'ers care to share their knowledge? Thanks! | | | | | |

| | I don't really know that much about CVS. We normally use Fryes pharmacy, but we just got a flyer in the mail saying if we switched our prescriptions they would give us a $25 gift card for their store. I'm not sure whether its worth it or not. | | | | | | |

| | I did that at my local grocery Ralphs and only had to pay $5 for the prescription! The gift card was for $30 so I got $25 free! I just saw the one for CVS and plan to make a switch there! | | | |

| | I don't know about that program, but on the back of their extra care card is the 800 number for the company. They are pretty helpful, and if they don't know the answer they will send you to someone who does. They have an advisory board you can join and they will credit your acct. ten dollars for surveys. It's good to know about the Walgreens catalog. I shop there alot. | | | | | | |

| | OH, didn't know that. Have to keep that in mind. You gotta try Walgreens - it is great. The catalog is good all month so you can shop every week or once a month. I do it and get usually $25. They put it on a gift card and I just reuse it the next month so not much comes out of pocket, just swaping "money" on the gift card. I highly recommend it! | | | |

| | My daughter uses them.. I never bother with them.. but she gets stuff with them for nearly free. I don't know how it works but she just buys stuff and gives them her coupons that are on her receipt. | | | | | | |

| | I have heard alot about it, and tried it once but am ready to work it again! I love Walgreens - I am usually $25 a month in free money to swap around - not much comes out of my pcoket - just that $25 in product or on gift card. YOu can get it in a check to use a you wish, but if you get the gift card, you get an extra 10% added on! Since I am buying there all the time anyway, I take the extra 10%!!!! | | | |

| | No, instore - I don't do online much. I'll have to work on it. I love Walgreens - SO easy. I just need to learn all the things with CVS - ECB's annd R somethings and back of the receipt and all. SOunds like a lot to have to work with. I applied for the card last night online and it takes 2 weeks to get here and I can't do anything until it gets here so I'll just work on learning it and then when I get the card, see if I can make it work! | | | |

| | Instore is daunting the first time, but all you do is when you get the card, then run it through the kiosk in the store when you first go it and it will print out whatever coupons are available that day. It might be $1 off or $5 off or whatever off on a particular item or on any CVS store brand item, and then when you go to pay for whatever you bought just hand your card and the coupons to the clerk. Where we shop the clerk is really on your side and will tell you if you are missing an additional discount by a few cents or even dollars. For instance once she told us that if we bought one more box of the CVS brand cookies it would qualify us for an extra $10 off on what we had brought to the register. And the cookies were $1 off that day as well. Once she said go backk and scan your card again before I finish ringing here and it will give you another coupons and it did and she applied that coupon that day, too. So although most of their items are marked pretty high on the shelves, if you combine the card savings with the store savings and the kiosk coupons with the ones that are printed on the bottom of your receipt, it is possible to come out ahead. Many of the coupons are not worth bothering with, but the good ones are great, and I think worth learning how to manage. | | | |

| | Should be near the front door, but they are rather understated. It is a good idea to run your card through it every time you go in before shopping. Good luck! | | | |

| | I haven't been there for awhile but in the past I have done it. The thing is my coupons always expired as well. So I never used them anyway. Sheesh but I did get some great deals. To take advantage unfortunately, I think you have to shop there alot and I don't do that, they can be pretty eexpensive. | | | | | | |

| | Okay, that is what I am trying to find out - the expiration of the coupons or "dollars" they give you....what is it? Mine were within 6 days from when I got them. I wouldn't be back that way by then so I couldn't use them. Is there an expiration of a short time on these things? I have not been back since. THis is what I am tring to find out. What that you got, had the expiration date on them and how long was it for? | | | |

| | It was the same thing- 6 days I think. I didn't have enough to get something for free with them and I didn't really need anything that I needed a couple of bucks off on. This is why I like Walgreens and the Easysaver better. There is no expiration and I like that. | | | |

| | My thoughts exactly! I love Walgreens. I currently have $35 on my card! FREE MONEY!!! Well, in a way! Thanks for mentioning the expiration thing - that was my problem...nothing I needed or even wanted to splurge on to use the CVS coupons. I'll look into it. maybe things have changed - its been about a year ago I tried it. | | | |

| | It has probably been that long since I have tried it as well. I don't think it has changed much. I'll stick with Walgreens- this month I have about 20 bucks in free money which comes in handy. :) | | | |
