How often do you change your bedding? |
| |
| I got to discussing this recently and there were some pretty big differences! How often do you change and wash your bedding? This would include sheets and pillow cases, comforters and duvet covers, pillows themselves, and anything else you regularly keep and use on your bed most nights. I thought the average or norm was maybe once a week or so, but I have heard anything from every other DAY to once a YEAR. LOL! | | | | | |

| | We change the madeups(pillow and bed covers...)every sunday as we have nearly five sets. We wash them when we wash our other clothes. It is always better to have spareones. | | | | | | |

| | No kidding! If you only have two or so it's hard to make it work. I have several sets but a couple are flannel and a couple are cotton, and I use only cotton in the summer and usually flannel in the winter. =) | | | |

| | Hello Mommyboo, I change my sheets and pillow cases once a week. My comforter about every 6 months, it has to be dry cleaned. I never wash the pillows them selves but buy new ones at least once a year. Those memory foam pillows, there is no way to clean them, and I have had to throw one out. My feather bed topper also goes to the dry cleaners every 8 months to a year. It is about time to buy a new one... I just love them. | | | | | | |

| | Oooh, I used to have a featherbed topper but no more. My comforters can be washed but we have a california king bed, which is why i usually take my comforter and sheets to the laundromat if the comforter needs washing. I can do just the sheets in my washer at home. I probably end up washing the comforters more often than most people because we eat in here... and so does the little one! She has spilled drinks many many times.... and I hate spots on my comforters lol! | | | |

| | I like staying at my bed than others. So I don't want to change my bed. Because if you go to bed at the person's bed, you can't sleep well. I think everyone have that think. | | | | | | |

| | I didn't mean change your BED, just your bedding, sheets and comforters/blankets etc. I actually love my bed, it has water tubes inside the mattress so it's supportive but not hard. Much nicer than a traditional spring mattress and better than foam or a typical waterbed. | | | |

| | Not often enough! Seriously though, I am bad about stripping my bed and washing the sheets. I think it stems from childhood, where it was my responsibility to do everyones bedding. I do manage to get the sheets and pillowcases done once a week. The comforter I wash seasonally. We have a king size waterbed and the comforter is way too big for my machine and dryer. I have to haul the darn thing to the laundromat and fight over the extra large washer. Not my idea of a fun Saturday! | | | | | | |

| | Hehehe!! Oh man, you sound like me! When I read your post I was thinking you were my long lost twin! When I was a kid, it wasn't my job to do everybody's bedding, well not to strip it and redo it, but I DID have to wash and dry it all! We have a king size waterbed too and I also dislike dragging everything to the laundromat, there are strange people there sometimes. A situation at the laundromat prompted another discussion I posted here about getting hit on. =P | | | |

| | I tend to think the every other day folks are bordering on ocd. I'm not even that bad unless there's a circumstance - like my daughter spilled something or peed the bed or got sick or something. I would probably consider doing it more often if there was dog or cat hair or something that was getting all over it all the time, but we don't have pets so that's not an issue. | | | |

| | Every week is looking like the majority vote so far in responses, followed by every two. I probably need to do mine again some time this week, although it won't be until I'm less busy. | | | |

| | to be honest with you, i work less at work then i do when i am home. so i know about being way to busy at home to get all the things done you want to get done. if i get my sheets changed onces a week i am a very happy lady. running a home is more work then i ever thought it would be. but the most rewarding | | | |

| | Yeah, and I don't know who in their right mind believes that people who are wives and moms and run a house aren't actually WORKING. I have never worked so many hours a week in my life, even with an employer and mandatory OT. LOL! I do my laundry a few times a week when I have a load, growing up I had to do some every day because I did EVERYBODY'S. Ugh! I've also found out that with just one extra little one that it takes longer to do almost everything and you have to plan your day with a little more time padding in order to make everything smooth. | | | |
