I felt this was important to spread around. If water is gotten in the lungs, a child can "drown" even hours after leaving the pool. Now that swimming season is here, please read this and be very careful. Pass the information along to your friends, too. Stay safe and enjoy your summer!

It is the first time I have ever seen or heard anything like this even with my nursing background. We have for years known that pneumonia could set up in your lungs with aspiration of fluids or food. But to drown hours later, it boggles the mind. I hate that this family is going through something this tragic.

It's very sad, especially since the mom must be agonizing over that she should or shouldn't have done. Poor woman, I said a prayer for her.

I read this the other day and it freaked me out! Everytime my daughter is in the tub and swallows a bit of water I check her to make sure it wasn't too much. It's great they let us know stuff like this but I think I may have been better off not knowing.

It's very scary when we think of all the dangers our children face. Makes me wonder how I ever survived my childhood!

I think it is a good reminder. We don't even think about those things when they are not in the water.
